additional information

A person who understands his business, knows how to talk to everyone, understands and feels people. Internally and externally attractive.
Worked in the PR and event industry for a long time. Major achievements in organizing non-standard and original events and promotions!

Kruglova Natalya, expert of the site Rabota.ru

It would seem, what a fun and enjoyable job it is to organize holidays! However, in reality this is very difficult work. Regardless of what purpose the celebration serves - whether to create a positive image in the market or strengthen the team spirit of the team - the task of “compliance” of the event with the company’s goals falls entirely on the shoulders of the event manager.

Like so many other things. The functional responsibilities of event include finding out the wishes of the company’s management or the customer (depending on whether the specialist works for a specific company or in a specialized agency for the provision of event services), developing the concept and program of the event.

Next, the event manager must: develop and provide management or the client with a detailed budget for the event (and convince that “cheaper, but better” is hardly realistic), plan the event within the framework of the budget approved from above, find a site for it, performers, details, conclude ( again, within the budget) with all of them under contract, to “sort out” all the details, to control the decoration of the hall (stage, ship, etc.), to monitor the rehearsals of the creative team, the installation of equipment.

The event manager is also responsible for ensuring that there are no “bottlenecks” during events - there are no queues for the cloakroom, there are enough chairs for everyone, and the speakers can be heard by each of the guests. He is also responsible for the design of souvenirs, the safety of participants, and the performance of their duties by contractors. Simply put, event is responsible for everything - and this while we are having fun.

It is probably unnecessary to repeat - this is not an easy job. However, our today's graduate Andrei would like to do just that. We'll talk about his resume.

Among the advantages, I would like to note, first of all, that Andrey listed his achievements: a list of successfully completed projects is the main recommendation for an event manager. Only relevant work experience is indicated, and job responsibilities are described in detail. “Additional information” is formatted in a rather non-standard way - which, in principle, is acceptable in the resume of a candidate for a creative position (although they still require some editing).

Now about the cons. Both the form and content of the resume raise some questions.

Regarding the form, the shortcomings are “traditional” - the information is poorly structured. Listing job responsibilities according to the principle of “what is remembered” is not the best option. It makes sense to highlight the main thing, divide the information into semantic blocks - this way it is easier for the reader to perceive and leaves the impression of you as a disciplined person who takes his work seriously. For example, “organizing and conducting events” implies “controlling the services involved in the event” - why indicate these responsibilities as equivalent?

It is also necessary to indicate professional skills, because the basis of event skills is not computer skills. “Additional information” is too reminiscent of self-promotion, and even if Andrey is truly “internally attractive,” it is better to demonstrate this wonderful quality in person, at an interview. Regarding external attractiveness, a photograph attached to a resume will be much more convincing; leading job sites provide this opportunity.

We make changes:

“combing” job responsibilities;
we formulate “Professional skills”;
We shorten and reformulate “Additional Information.”
