An aroma stone is something like a hard sachet, essentially a plaster or clay figurine soaked in your favorite essential oil. It can be hidden in your closet, scenting your clothes, it can be on your desk or hanging next to your bed, you can carry it in your bag or keep it under your pillow.

We make a small heart from plasticine or plastic. We need it in order to make a depression on the surface of the aroma stone into which the oil will be poured. In fact, you can do without a recess if you are not going to decorate your aroma stone, since gypsum absorbs essential oils well. But I usually paint the stone with acrylic or decoupage and cover it with varnish, which reduces the absorbent properties of the plaster.

So, we place the finished heart on the bottom of the mold; if necessary, we fix it with a piece of double-sided tape so that the plaster does not flow under it.

Preparing plaster. We dilute 2-3 tablespoons with water to the consistency of not very thick sour cream.

Pour into the mold so as to barely cover the heart (about three millimeters).

Let's wait until the mixture sets a little. When the plaster becomes damp, but not liquid, let's work on the loop. To do this, you need to make the same simple design as in the first photo:

You need to pierce the form from the inside out (so that the button is inside and the needle with the loop is outside). After this, you can pour the remaining plaster.

After about three hours, the still wet aroma stone must be carefully removed from the mold. Be careful, it is still very brittle! Carefully remove the plasticine heart; this must be done before the plaster has completely dried. In addition, we need to make several indentations in the side of the stone, like this:

They are needed so that ethers can be dripped onto the stone even while hanging and nothing will leak out. We make indentations on the side of the aroma stone with a Phillips screwdriver or drill.

Do-it-yourself aroma stone.

Recipe 1. Gypsum aromatic stone.

First of all, we select a mold for the future accessory. Now there are many different silicone baking molds on sale, you can buy the one you like or use an old one. It is advisable to choose a blank with a small convexity in the center, then the prepared aroma stone will have a ready-made recess for filling with essential oil. At the first stage, we will also need plaster: medical or construction, a container for stirring: I recommend a plastic cup for sour cream or yogurt (don’t mind throwing it away after use), water and a stirring stick.

Pour up to 1/3 of a plastic cup of gypsum, add water and stir with a stick until a homogeneous batter is obtained. Its density should allow you to subsequently pour the solution into the mold, filling all its bends, and not transfer it manually. After pouring the mold, I recommend shaking it lightly to distribute the plaster evenly, eliminate voids and level the bottom. Gypsum hardens very quickly, so you need to do everything quickly and not try to fill out all the forms at once, but limit yourself to 1-2. Plaster is a fairly fragile material, so I recommend pouring a small circle of gauze or bandage into the mold at the base.

After an hour or two, you can carefully remove the workpiece from the mold and leave it to dry in natural conditions for a day and a half. Dry plaster becomes completely white. Then carefully sand all the unevenness and excess along the edges of the mold with fine sandpaper.

Next, the workpiece can be painted and painted. acrylic paint, leaving a porous recess where we will drip the aromatic oil. If you don't have the talent of an artist, it's okay. We take colorful napkins, cut out the motifs we like and, using a brush and liquid PVA glue, glue them to the workpiece. The glue easily saturates the napkin, so we dry cut the blanks onto the aroma stone and apply PVA on top with a brush. Let it dry, carefully sand off the excess and apply varnish several times, letting it dry between coats. Use sandpaper to remove streaks near the base, if any have formed. During all these operations, we remember that the place for filling the aroma stone with essential oils should remain untreated.

All that remains is to fill the accessory with your favorite aroma oil and enjoy the effect of the aroma stone made by yourself.

Recipe 2. Aroma stone made from salt dough.

To prepare it you will need regular flour, salt, warm water, a little vegetable oil, kitchen dyes and essential oils. To avoid staining the skin of your hands with dyes, I recommend using cellophane gloves. Knead the dough in the proportion of 2 parts flour to 1 part salt with a small addition of vegetable oil for elasticity. If necessary, divide the kneaded dough into parts and add 5-20 drops of essential oil and dye. The dye will not only diversify accessories, but will also help distinguish aroma stones with different essential oils by color. Knead the dough thoroughly until the aroma oil and dye are completely absorbed, divide into portions and shape individual aromatic stones. We dry them in a warm place.

Such aroma stones will emit aroma for several days, and their effect can be restored by wiping with essential oils over the entire surface. But still, it is better to squeeze out a place in the form for additional filling of essential oil with your fingers or using badges, buttons and other objects.

The aroma stone is filled with essential oil. The plaster will absorb the oil and slowly give off an odor. The duration depends on the properties of the essential oil; the stronger and more stable the smell, the longer the aroma stone will smell fragrant.

Materials:

• Gypsum (powder)
• Pouring mold (plastic or silicone)

Suitable for soap or baking

• Acrylic paints (white and pink)
• Pastel (yellow, blue and dark pink)
• Acrylic primer
• Acrylic lacquer
• Rhinestones
• Transparent adhesive gel
• A piece of plasticine
• Container for diluting gypsum (plastic cup)
• Wooden stick for stirring plaster
• Brushes for painting and tinting

Glue a small piece of plasticine to the bottom of the mold; this will be a recess for the essential oil.

To ensure that the filling is even, place a mug under the mold.

We will make an incense stone from gypsum. In a plastic cup, dilute gypsum in warm water, approximately 40 degrees. I took more than half a glass and made 3 small aroma stones. I needed 10 heaped spoons of plaster.

Quickly stir the plaster. You should have the consistency of liquid sour cream.

If you make it thicker, you may not have time to fill the mold evenly and various defects in the product are possible.

Carefully pour the mixture into the mold and leave for 30-60 minutes.

We take out our flower and carefully remove the plasticine from it. Leave to dry for a day in a warm place. It's best to use a radiator or stove.

You can check whether the product is dry by placing it on a sheet of paper. If after half an hour, when you lift it, you do not see a wet mark or waves do not appear on the sheet, then the stone is dry.

Now you need to prime the entire surface of the flower, except for the recess.

At this stage, the flower can be painted with acrylic paints, but I covered the top layer of the flower with white paint and shaded the middle with pastels.

Cover the bottom layer with soft pink acrylic paint. I don’t have this kind of paint, I mix hot pink with white.

I tint the lower flower with dark pink pastel.

For a soft transition of color I will use a cotton swab.

Let's add a little more color to the white chamomile and tint the bases of the petals with blue pastel.

It's time to varnish the product. Cover the hole with a piece of cotton wool.

Let's add some tenderness to the flower and glue a few rhinestones onto the glue gel. The aroma stone is ready!

I will use this sachet in the bedroom, so I choose soothing herbs with a pleasant aroma for me - these are rose petals, lavender flowers, thyme, which improves immunity and protects against colds, a little motherwort and lemon balm.
