DIY photo album for the New Year. DIY scrapbooking for beginners step by step: detailed master classes from scratch, instructions for making albums, cards, flowers, panels, photo frames, wedding invitations and notebooks with photo ideas for creativity

The master class was conducted by Irina Lomskova.

The year has flown by unnoticed, and very soon there will be a wonderful, beloved holiday - New Year! There will be gifts, many meetings, congratulations. And of course there will be a lot photos that you want to save and then review with great pleasure. To ensure that your photos are always at hand and beautifully designed, you can make a New Year's album.

You will need:
4 sheets of cardboard for the base of pages measuring 15x15 cm,
glue, scissors, pencil, ruler,
2 sheets of thick, 2 mm cardboard for the cover, size 16x16cm,
2 connecting rings,
stamps in the form of snowflakes,
ink pad,
liner or thin black marker,
New Year themed rubs,
envelope, metal decorations, buttons, flowers,
scrapbooking paper, wrapping paper,

Colored cardboard, lace, decorative ribbons,
corner hole punch, hole punch for snowflakes.

Progress.
Start by wrapping all the album covers and pages in wrapping paper. This is the simplest packaging paper, without pictures, without drawings - beige-gray in color, which is sold in rolls.

Create a background on the pages and cover using snowflake stamps. Arrange them in a chaotic order.

Make backgrounds for pages and covers. To do this, cut out squares from scrap paper with sides of 14x14 cm for the pages and 15x15 cm for the cover. The backgrounds will be slightly smaller than the base. Glue it. When we glue the backgrounds to the cover, we need to glue ribbons under the backgrounds that will tie the album.

Using a liner or marker, draw improvised frames on the glued backgrounds by hand.

Glue photo backing onto the pages. To do this, cut out rectangles measuring 9.5x12.5 cm from colored cardboard and decorate them with a corner hole punch. You will get backings with places to insert a photo.

Make snowflakes on the substrates using stamps. Then glue the backings to the places where the photos will be.

Now you can move on to decorating the album. Start with the cover. Cut out a frame from colored cardboard. Glue a hole-punch snowflake under it. Next, make balls - cut out circles from colored cardboard and put a snowflake stamp on them. Glue on bulk tape. Add a metal pendant.

Glue an envelope and a picture of a snowman to the inside of the cover. Glue the CD sleeve to the back cover. Take a regular CD sleeve, trace, fold, glue and glue to the back cover. In this envelope you can put a disc with photographs that are not included in the album.

Next, decorate each page. Use rubbing, lace, hole-punching snowflakes, flowers, metal pendants.

The last step is to assemble the cover and pages onto metal rings. That's it, the album is ready!

Hello, our dear readers!
We hope your holidays are joyful and carefree!
You will probably have a lot of winter photos that you will want to put in an album.

Today our designerElena Artistka opens a window into a fairy tale for you: introduces you to the new Maja Design paper collection and shares with you his ideas for designing a winter album.

Word to Elena:
Hello, dear scrapaholics! The long-awaited New Year 2016 has arrived, and with it a new charge of strength, ideas and inspiration! And as the winter holidays continue, family snowy photos are piling up and waiting to be turned into minis, pages and albums, it’s time to get a little inspired and do your favorite creativity! Today I, Lena Artistka , I’ll show you my new frosty album and try to inspire you to create something beautiful))
This album is based on absolutely extraordinary paper.Home for the Holidays by Maja Design. When I picked it up for the first time, it immediately became clear that all current affairs and projects would have to be put aside... This collection completely occupies my thoughts and is sooooo inspiring!

The first thing that strikes you is the designs themselves. This is our winter! The most charming snowmen, the cutest deer, snowflakes, stars, music notes and lots and lots of snow! Muted tones, a touch of vintage... It's so warm and cozy!

The second thing that pleasantly surprises is the quality. The paper is very thick, the print quality is excellent, it behaves great on folds, the edges fray as needed)) Just a song!

Very quickly these pieces of paper began to turn into an album... But let's start with the cover!
I had the idea to make such a fairy-tale album, and give the opportunity to “peek” into this fairy tale through the cover. This is how this large shaker window was born, through which the first photo in the album will be visible.

I cut out the “frame” of the window from beer cardboard, and to give it such an interesting texture, it took about 7 layers of paint, texture paste and craquelure. The glasses are cut out of transparent film and filled around the perimeter with transparent craquelure (looks like real ice!), and the shaker itself is filled with a scattering of sequins and beads.

Another cute detail of this album is the little knitted mittens that adorn the ends of the ribbon.

When we open the album, it’s as if we find ourselves in a fairyland, and magical sparkling snow is falling outside the window! As I said, the paper is incredibly beautiful. It is so self-sufficient that it is simply a pity to close it! To emphasize its attractiveness, I chose several types of materials and used them on each page. These are craft, vellum, book sheets, knitted elements, pieces of gauze, natural lace and braid.

I added interesting accents by cutting out stamps made with embossing using silver powder.

In the center of each page there are backgrounds for a 10*10 photo, sometimes for one, and sometimes for three photos. Each backing is raised on a piece of cardboard and highlighted with layers of paper and gauze.

There are opening flaps on two pages that will allow you to increase the capacity of the album: add photos or make notes.

Chipboard also covered with layers of silver, white and transparent powders , in some places decorated with small glitter.

Cozy, warm paper was perfectly complemented by natural elements: star anise, wooden cuts, sisal, twigs, etc.. The main thing is not to forget to mute the bright colors with white primer or acrylic paint!

Additional craft ideas and sources of inspiration can be found in your surroundings or on the World Wide Web.

Designers try their best and come up with intricate installations for our delight. Let's take advantage of this. We go to the most beautiful places in the city. In Moscow, of course, this is the center - “ Child's world", GUM, boulevards. True, there are always people in the center, and in order to take a shot in which there will be no one superfluous, you will have to be patient and especially carefully choose the shooting point.

Photos with Christmas trees will become more festive if they have beautiful bokeh lights. In order to get bokeh, you need to shoot at an open aperture of 2.0 or 2.8 on a long lens 85 mm, 135 mm, 70-200 mm. The further away the main subject is from the lights, the more expressive the bokeh is.

Don't forget that when the aperture is open, the foreground is also blurred, even more than the background. We place some object with light bulbs in the foreground and the frame becomes fabulous.

Every family has its own New Year traditions and rituals. For example, letters to Santa Claus about gifts. Why not make this event a mini photo shoot?
Apartments, as a rule, do not have very good lighting. Therefore, it is better to find a more or less free place near the window. If possible, clear the background and decorate it with a garland. Place New Year's accessories on the table.
While the child diligently draws a robot or writes “Daragoy Grandfather Maros!”, we film him from different points. We make frames of different sizes: general, medium, close-ups, details. From such a shooting you will get a mini-series of 10-15 frames.

Baking New Year's cookies is also a wonderful story.

New Year's mittens, pajamas, socks - all these cute details will become wonderful objects for photography. After all, thanks to them, the same thing is created Christmas mood. And it will be so nice in a few years to remember and reconsider how cute the legs of your daughter or son were.

It doesn’t matter what kind of Christmas tree you have - real or artificial. Children will be delighted with any of them and will become the best decorators in the world. Decorating your Christmas tree can be a lot of fun. You can involve all family members in it and make not a mini-, but a large photo series about this joyful event.

What is important? A series requires different plans, as I said above. And be sure to take photos with the lights off and the garlands on. They turn out magical!

You can decorate your Christmas tree with photographs! It is not difficult. We buy small wooden photo frames, gold acrylic paint in advance, and print out family photos (black and white will look more stylish). And voila - the original decor is ready.

It is best to shoot them against a dark background in a darkened room. You can create a narrow light with your own hands especially for such a shot: during the day, close the thick curtains in such a way as to leave only a narrow strip of light that will fall on the heroes of the photo. In this case, shooting should be done from the side so that the background is dark and the light is from the side. Then faces and smoke from sparklers will be beautifully illuminated.

On the morning of January 1, you need to show strength of character, turn on your willpower to the maximum and get up early to take a position for the photo hunt. The speed of reaction is important here. You will have about five minutes to film the children’s sincere emotions and the process of opening New Year’s gifts.

There is such a tradition - New Year's photo shoot in a studio. In most photo studios from November 1st appears holiday decor. This can and should be used too. This kind of photography is usually done professional photographer. They prepare for it in advance, choosing clothes to match the studio and the Christmas tree. Shooting in the studio is a great opportunity to take photos with all family members, so feel free to take your grandparents to the studio. They will then be the most happy about the photographs.

Whatever photographs you take at home, in the studio or on the street, the most important thing is to enjoy the process, not to be nervous if something doesn’t work out as planned, trust the hand of fate and enjoy the time spent with your family. After all, this is your family album; you are not obligated to fill it with technically flawless photographs that follow all the laws of composition. Live and dearest shots, as a rule, are far from these ideals, but they are emotional and definitely about you.
Merry December, New Year and Christmas to you! Let your photo albums be filled with beautiful New Year's pictures!
