Water-based stamp inks Water-based stamp ink, suitable for office use only, i.e. making an ink impression only on a paper surface. The paint is gradually absorbed into the surface of the canvas and does not smear in the future, because penetrates into the structure of the paper itself. Such paints can be used with any material for making seals and stamps (both polymer and rubber). This is exactly the ink that we use to refill stamp pads when working with seals, stamps and facsimiles. The color palette is always constant (blue, black, red, green, purple), there are no shades. And if you see a blue or gray print, this only means that the paint in the pillow was almost running out when such a print was made. Alcohol based stamp inks Alcohol-based stamp ink is used on non-absorbent surfaces (metal, glass, concrete, wood, plastic, polyethylene, glossy paper, fabric and much more). When making a print, the alcohol vapor immediately evaporates (from 12-65 seconds) and due to this, the paint itself dries. It is preferably tucked into desktop stamp pads and used with simple (non-automatic) equipment for seals and stamps, because Evaporation of alcohols occurs not only on the surface of the print, but also in the stamp pad itself, which means constant refilling and additional consumption of ink. Automatic equipment is inconvenient because the pad is built inside and is in constant contact with the stamp pad, and this will lead to the cliche drying to the pad, followed by contamination of the print and destruction of the stamp pad. But even in a desk pillow, alcohol-containing ink will dry out very quickly, and the pillows will become unusable, which will make them consumables (there is no other way out). Paints intended for application to fabric are resistant to boiling and bleaching. Usually the fabric is washed before marking.
Alcohol inks are used only for seals and clichés made of rubber. The photopolymer absorbs alcohol quite well, but is destroyed under its influence; such cliches quickly become unusable and lose their working qualities.
Oil based paint
This type of paint is used:
- for numberers;
- stamps with metal cliches;
- for franking machines.
Oil paint is applied to absorbent material – paper. These could be labels or tickets. The paint penetrates deeply into the material, such a print is difficult to remove and cannot be washed off.
The ink dries instantly, leaving a clear, bright print.
For ease of use, many manufacturers equip their products with dispensers. The amount of paint in a bottle can vary from 28 milliliters to a liter.
