United Internet leave the group. MTS “Unified Internet” service – what is it? What is the “Unified Internet” service in MTS

Service " Unified Internet"appeared in MTS not so long ago, but has already gained popularity. In this article we will tell you what this service is, how to connect it and how much it costs, as well as its features..

What is the “Unified Internet” service in MTS

Now there are many tariffs with a large Internet traffic package included in the subscription fee. For example, in the “Smart for Your Own” tariff you will receive 10 GB for only 200 rubles (read our description of this tariff).

How to connect to the “Unified Internet”

To connect, you need to log into your personal account through a browser or use the My MTS mobile application. The second option is more convenient and faster. Click on the icon with the remaining Internet traffic and select the “Distribute” tab. In the future, this screen will show all devices connected to the group and their traffic consumption, but for now click the “Invite device” button:

We indicate the number we want to add to the group and click “Connect”. An SMS notification of an invitation to the group will be sent to the connected number. You will need to confirm joining the group with a reply SMS:

That's it, the first number has been added to your group. If necessary, repeat the procedure for other numbers. There can be a total of 5 participants in a group, not counting the initiator.

How much does “Unified Internet” cost?

For connecting the first device, the group initiator will be charged 100 rubles (and will then be charged every month). If at the time of inviting the first device you do not have 100 rubles in your account, they will withdraw 4 rubles per day until it becomes possible to write off the amount immediately for the month. You will not have to pay to connect the next four numbers. That is, it doesn’t matter how many numbers you add to the group, 1 or 5, subscription fee will be the same.

What are the nuances of the “Unified Internet”?

  • You can use the “Unified Internet” only on tariff plans of the Smart line (with the exception of “Smart mini”) and ULTRA, as well as on any other tariff with the Internet Mini, Internet Maxi or Internet VIP option connected;
  • All numbers added to the “Unified Internet” group must be from the same region.

Many people cannot imagine their life without constant access to the Internet. Various devices provide full access to the Internet. But connecting each of them will require a lot of money. Therefore, MTS provides its customers with the “Unified Internet” function.

Before how to disable the MTS Unified Internet service, it is worth familiarizing yourself with its features.

Option specifics

It is enough to purchase a starter package with a specific tariff. It can be used on different devices. Thus, there is no need to install additional paid features. You need to connect all gadgets at the same time.

Thanks to this option, you can use the Internet from several gadgets at once. Only one starter pack is used with a certain amount megabyte. You can “share” the Internet into five different devices.

Who is this service suitable for?

  • subscribers using multiple devices (smartphone, tablet, netbook, etc.);
  • users who want to save on paid services for each individual gadget;
  • clients who, by connecting family members, can save money.

Specifics of connecting and disabling the function

You can connect to the “Unified Internet” if you log into your personal account. Registration or authorization is required to enter. After studying the terms of the tariff plan, you need to use the “My Group” tab. This is where you can control connected gadgets. The number is entered and an SMS message is sent to confirm entry into the group.

The group leader determines the amount of traffic, after which the service is blocked.

Activation conditions:

  • connect the appropriate one tariff plan;
  • send invitations to the desired participants through your personal account or command *750#;
  • when connecting automatically, you must follow the operator’s instructions;
  • Group users have ten minutes to confirm entry. You must send the number 1 to number 5340;
  • the connection ends with a notification received that the service has been activated.

To increase traffic by 100 MB, 500 MB, 2 GB and 5 GB, you can use simple commands *111*05#, *167#, *168#, respectively. Each increase is paid.

To remove one of the participants, you need to log into your personal account. An SMS is sent to 5340 with the specified mobile number. number of the group member to be removed. The list of connected devices is cleared after sending SMS 0* to number 5340. If you send only the number 0, the participant excludes himself from the list.

So, how to disable the unified Internet on MTS? There is no special way. It is enough to exclude all participants, after which the option will be automatically blocked and will no longer work.

Modern devices can independently distribute the Internet, because making your own laptop, tablet or smartphone an access point in the Wi-Fi range is not difficult. But the operator cellular communications MTS has something else in mind when offering “Unified Internet”. Users are invited to connect several devices with SIM cards from the operator to use one Internet traffic package. And it doesn’t matter where the subscribers are located - in the same service area of the operator or while traveling to different cities.

In our review, we will study what kind of service the operator offers its users called “Unified Internet”. How much does it cost, how does it work and how to connect it.

Connecting to the “Unified Internet” service from MTS allows the user to share their Internet traffic with other users. Traffic division is carried out not at the user level, but at the level of the cellular communication networks themselves.

Let’s say that by activating this service, you can distribute your purchased package of Internet traffic to your second phone, tablet or laptop. Using one package for several of your devices will allow you to significantly save your money without connecting traffic packages separately for each.

It's easy to calculate the benefits. For example, with an “Internet Mini” package connected to two devices, you will have to pay at least 1 thousand rubles in total (the cost of two “Mini” packages), and when connecting to the service, only one package and payment for the service.

The service also has limitations.– on almost all tariffs, distribution is limited to 50 GB per month, on the “Smart Unlimited” tariff it is even less - no more than 10 GB per month.

Important! The maximum number of numbers connected through the service is limited to 5. The restriction also applies to the connection region of subscribers connected to the distribution - it is imperative that users be connected in the same service region mobile operator MTS.

Who can use it?

The “Unified Internet” service can be activated on all tariff plans of the Smart and Ultra group (with the exception of the Smart Mini plan). Any other tariffs with connected Internet traffic packages “Internet Mini”, “Internet Maxi”, “Internet VIP” are also suitable. These conditions apply only to the one who activates the service on his number, that is, is the initiator of the distribution of the “Unified Internet”. Invited users can have any tariff plan with any set or lack of options.

Important! When a user is in a roaming service area, he can also become a participant in the “Unified Internet” distribution by accepting an invitation to the group on the operator’s website.

What is the price?

Using the “Unified Internet” service will cost the user – the initiator of the distribution 100 rubles monthly payment. the cost of the service is written off immediately after its activation. To activate the service and start using it, the funds on the balance of the user’s number must be enough to pay the cost of the first month.

The option applies only to the main traffic package of the initiator of the distribution group - additionally purchased or one-time packages such as “Turbo button” cannot be distributed.

Important! If the funds on the number are not enough to charge the first payment of 100 rubles, then you will not be able to activate the service.

How to activate the service?

You can manage a group of users connected to the “single Internet” both from the official MTS portal and from mobile application"My MTS." To do this you will have to go to the address: http://internet.mts.ru. Next you need to perform the following procedure:

  • Invitation. In your account on the website, you need to open the “Invite device” section and enter the number of the user you would like to add to your distribution group.
  • Agreement. The user you invited to the distribution group after receiving the informational SMS must respond with the number “1” to the same number from which the message was received. The second option to add to the group by invitation is to click the “Consent” button when logging in on the same official operator portal via the link: http://internet.mts.ru.

Important! Let us draw your attention to one nuance: adding a user to a distribution group may not work if he is already a member of another distribution group within the “Unified Internet” option. To join your distribution group, he must leave the previous group. The operation to remove someone from a distribution group may take several days.

Adding to the distribution group occurs within 15 minutes. If this does not happen, you can invite the user to the group again. And any user added to it can independently leave the group if they wish.

Management of the distribution group - adding, deleting users, setting personal limits on the use of Internet traffic, as well as information about spent and remaining volumes is carried out by the initiator of the distribution and occurs at the same address: http://internet.mts.ru after authorization.

Important! It will not be possible to add a user with the same plan as the group initiator to the distribution group.

After testing in a number of regions, the Shared Internet service is being launched in Moscow. You can connect up to six different devices to one Internet package and save on individual Internet packages. The conditions look good, there are not many restrictions on use. Not everyone needs the service, but it will be useful to many.

A Data Sharing Bundle can be either a niche or a relatively popular service. It all depends on the price of the issue, restrictions on use, manageability and ease of use of such a service. Below we will analyze whether the option proposed by MTS turned out to be balanced in all respects; the viability of the service depends on this.

When?

To be honest, now I’m afraid to make predictions. The shared Internet service in MTS itself has long been working for corporate clients. It is convenient for organizations to buy large Internet packages and distribute the Internet among employees themselves in accordance with their needs and status. But prices for the mass market are high. There are also probably many difficulties and technical problems associated with implementation at different tariffs related to different contracts. There were pilot projects in four regions, then in several more the service began operating in its current form.

But the Moscow region is a special case in terms of its scale, equipment and, it is possible, still preserved different platforms. It must be assumed that at the last moment some unexpected difficulties arose and the launch date was postponed from June 22 to June 24. Then they moved it up a few more days and now they plan to officially launch on June 29, we’ll see. I don’t see anything “criminal” in this: it’s better this way than later adding to the service for existing subscribers.

Dot the i's

Main characteristics of the “Unified Internet” service. To understand the possibilities and whether this thing can be useful to you personally.

  • The maximum number of additionally connected devices is 5. In total, one Internet package can be used on a maximum of six devices at the same time.
  • Subscription fee (removed immediately upon connection) - 100 rubles. per month for each device, more precisely, for each connected additional SIM card. Until August 31, 2015, the subscription fee for one additional device will not be charged.
  • “Donor” tariffs: the entire line of Smart, Ultra tariffs, as well as Internet Mini/Maxi/Super/VIP options on most current and archived tariffs.
  • “Recipient” tariffs: most current and archived tariffs. There are exceptions, but we will be able to read the list of them after the official launch of the service.
  • Connection and disconnection: USSD, SMS, Web site.
  • Access to management: on a special web page one.mts.ru
  • Traffic quota limit per additional device: can be set individually for each device, but not more than 50 GB per month for each additional device.
  • Only the SIM card of the home region of the “donor” can act as a “recipient”.

Why and for whom?

The very existence of such a service may not seem entirely logical. Indeed, operators have done everything in their power to drive Internet users to package offers and conditional unlimited services with a subscription fee. I have written more than once about the “price wars” of operators with those clients who stubbornly clung to the retail Internet. And smartphones and tablets did their job, that’s what was intended. And then suddenly the “Unified Internet”, which almost puts an end to the hard-won positions stable income from each subscriber?

The shared Internet sets itself the task of “hooking” precisely that segment of the market that is excluded from the mobile Internet by prohibitive retail prices. Many are not morally ready to pay 200 rubles. more than a month for occasional visits to the network in places without working Wi-Fi. And each device “linked” to the package brings a subscription fee, albeit small. It's better than getting nothing. Plus convenience for customers and their additional loyalty to the operator. Balanced prices are important: the subscription fee for connecting to someone else’s package should be noticeably less than in any other option available on the market.

Beeline launched its “Internet for Everything” on the mass market back in July last year, during discussions on various resources, including Mobile-Review (our review), the potential audience and “people’s aspirations” appeared quite clearly. What surprised me most at the time was FAQ like “Who might need this if now every smartphone can distribute the Internet via Wi-Fi?” That is, not everyone understood the essence of the new service; this should have been written about separately and with examples. SIM cards linked to the “donor” Internet package can be located anywhere and anytime; they live their own independent lives, consuming the general Internet package. If you have 2-3 personal devices with you, then the “Unified Internet” is really of no use to you, this is not your profile.

Although even in the scenario of two personal devices, options are possible. For example, a tablet with 4G support, and a smartphone with a Smart tariff without 4G. Instead of distributing the Internet to a tablet from a smartphone, it makes more sense to give the Internet to the tablet’s SIM card; it will be much more comfortable.

The first thing that comes to mind is a shared internet package for a family. In the Moscow region, the minimum price for an Internet package is 200+ rubles. (we don’t consider any Promo), subscriber for “Unified Internet” – 100 rubles/month per device. If the basic package is more than enough, then why not save?

Tariffs in the Smart+/Top or ULTRA category are often taken for work or active voice communication; the generous Internet packages included in them are rarely used. It would be logical to dispose of the good in a businesslike manner, transferring the “extra” Internet to the device where the Internet will be useful.

Option " Mobile Internet chipping in" also looks like a smart investment. For example, “Internet-VIP” plus a subscription for additional devices will cost 1,700 rubles. for six, each will receive 5 GB of traffic for 285 rubles. Agree, this is more rational than paying 350 rubles. for 3 GB of traffic in Internet Mini.

As far as I understand (I need to clarify), if there is a night unlimited on the main device, each additional device can also use this unlimited, albeit within a maximum of 50 GB. And so on, there are enough options, and you will probably have interesting ideas, welcome in the comments. If the service seems useless to you personally, then remember the ancient joke: “What, you don’t like cats? You just don’t know how to cook them!”

How it works

Some features and limitations that are good to know about for those who intend to use the service. Let me remind you that until August 31, there is no subscription fee for one additional device, so you can delve into the guts of this interesting product without any financial losses.

The “Unified Internet” service itself is activated on all tariffs and options that support such “donation”. Then each additional “recipient” number is connected separately using the ussd command *111*750# (menu), an SMS message of the form 1 79161234567 (0 79161234567 to disable) to number 5340, or on the service management Web pages. 100 rub. for each “recipient” it is debited from the “donor’s” balance upon connection and then every month. Judging by personal experience, access to the management section one.mts.ru occurs through authorization in personal account. The easiest way is to log in from the “donor” SIM card, then everything happens automatically.

On the same page you can set a traffic quota for each “recipient”. When the quota is exhausted, the “recipient” is redirected to the control page, where he can connect the turbo button and continue to use the Internet. But at your own expense. Likewise, in case the “donor” package is completely exhausted or the “donor” number is blocked.

The “donor” can distribute the Internet only from his main package or additional periodic packages of 500 MB or 1 GB. Once the package is exhausted, the donor has a choice of two types of Turbo buttons: public access(button traffic is included in the distribution) and individual, which allows you to use the Internet only from the main device (donor SIM card).

The basic package in force in Russia will also apply to “recipients”. If the option does not work for the “donor” (for example, “Smart Mini”), then it will not work for the “recipient”. For Internet Mini/Maxi/Super/VIP options an additional 50 rubles will be charged. per day in the event of any “recipient” appearing on the Internet outside the home region. I hope it’s “anyone” and not “everyone”.

Other details will become clear after the official launch of the service, we’re waiting. There may also be some changes in characteristics and behavior. You never know, for some reason the launch in Moscow was postponed for several days. If something changes radically, I will write an Update.

Comparison

For now, comparisons can only be made with Beeline’s “Internet for Everything.” The MTS option so far looks obviously better based on several criteria: there are no restrictions on the “recipient” tariff (in Beeline it is only “Simple Internet” without voice), a more humane price (100 instead of 150 rubles), flexible quota management. Why “so far is better”? Because Beeline is now working on the next version of its service, and I hope that the shortcomings will be taken into account. Let's see what happens.

Among other interesting things is the launch of shared Internet in Beeline on postpaid tariffs. Perhaps, taking into account the emergence of the “Unified Internet” on the market, MTS in Beeline on its postpaid “Internet for Everything” decided not to charge a subscriber for additional devices until the end of 2015. Whatever you say, competition is a good thing and useful for you and me.
