Kirov Tire Plant Pirelli. Kirov tire plant. OJSC "Kirov Tire Plant"

The Kirov Tire Plant is a unique enterprise that every year enters the top three tire plants in Russia. In 2011, a global modernization of equipment and technologies began, thanks to the new owner of KShZ - the international holding Pirelli. The year of foundation of the Kirov production is 1942. The plant is developing as a very important wartime enterprise. The front was in dire need of tire products - for armored personnel carriers, cannons, the legendary "one and a half" GAZ and "three-ton" ZIS transporting ammunition or food. After the war, the plant was being modernized for about seven years. In the 60s, workshops for the production of bicycle rubber and radial tires began to operate.

The turning point for the Kirov plant was the beginning of the 90s, as for any state production. But since 1994, the company has earned more efficiently and began to master the production of passenger tires. Giant car factories: GAZ, PAZ, AVTOVAZ, UAZ have chosen KShZ for deliveries to their primary configurations. The plant has become known for its wide selection of light truck tires for the Gazelle.

OJSC "Kirov Tire Plant"

To date, the Kirov Tire Plant is a successfully developing Russian production. But two years - from 2009 to 2011 - were tense and difficult for the enterprise - we had to face crisis situation, credit and change the owner more than once. Russian-Dutch tire company OAO Amtel. Volga Region" came to the leadership of KShZ at the beginning of the 2000s and owned almost 90% of the shares until 2009. But the inability to pay the debts accumulated by the company by this time led to bankruptcy. Sibur came to the aid of KShZ. Russian Tires” and Alfa Group, taking over the management and resolving debt issues. They entered into contracts for raw materials with deferred payments and provided a loan. In 2010, the rights that Amtel-Povolzhye had in relation to KShZ were transferred to Sibur. Ultimately, the development of tire production at the Kirov plant took over the responsibility, having bought 100% of the shares in 2011, the international holding Pirelli, based in Italy.

Production of "Kirov Tire Plant"

KShZ has become famous for the production of tires for trucks / light trucks, passenger cars, agricultural vehicles and special equipment, as well as bus, scooter tires. The tires of the Kirov plant have long been popular with owners of various models of VAZ, GAZ, Niva, UAZ, Sobol, Gazelle, ZIL Bychok and some foreign cars.

In four years, the plant managed to master the production of 42 Pirelli models. Among these tires there are different options for premium and budget levels for measured and high-speed city trips. Russian motorists highly appreciate the studded winter model Pirelli "Winter Carving Edge". She, and other models of the Pirelli Winter line, are produced by KShZ. "Winter Carving Edge" has an optimal cost. Wear-resistant and soft rubber shows excellent braking performance and decent grip in ice, thanks to strong studs. On Russian factories(in Kirov and Voronezh), the Pirelli holding decided to increase the production of winter tire models. In online stores of auto products under the brand name "KShZ" or "Kirov" you can find tires "K-201 Samson" for SUVs or inexpensive all-weather models "Kirov K-153", as well as other good tires. For example, the inexpensive winter model "Fortio", judging by the reviews, will not allow the car to stall. This is a very durable tire with a wear-resistant tread and strong studs.

The management of the Kirov Tire Plant reports that the distribution of products today is as follows: 20-25% of tires are supplied to automakers: both Russian and foreign. It was decided to send the rest of the volume to the secondary market, of which 20% will be exported to the CIS, Scandinavia, Canada.

Pirelli technology production

After the transfer of the Kirov Tire Plant to the ownership of the Italian holding, Pirelli supplied main task- not to increase volumes, but to raise the quality to the level of world tire products. Since 2011, Pirelli Tire Russia began to purchase more advanced equipment for the Kirov enterprise.

Mainly, at KShZ it was necessary to improve the quality of the rubber mixture, since the handling, driving stability, and wear resistance of the tire depend on it. To date, two new lines have been opened in the rubber mixing shop, and the materials and raw materials laboratories are being improved. Pirelli rubber compounds include natural and butadiene rubbers, which, together with new tread patterns, will allow the tires to be produced to demonstrate excellent grip in ice. The use of a component called "silica" in the rubber compound provides the tire with high wear resistance and low rolling resistance. The Pirelli company is known in the tire industry as the creator of the revolutionary adaptable rubber compound (ACT technology). This technology is used to produce a rubber polymer that can change plasticity depending on temperature, which means that your tires can safely move within the temperature range: -40 - + 7ºС

Pirelli makes production at the Kirov plant environmentally friendly by building an indoor waste storage and recycling facility to implement its environmental program in accordance with European standards. The "green" tires produced today in the process of their manufacture by the plant, during operation by the motorist and during disposal cause minimal harm to the environment.

In almost four years, KShZ mastered new technology spike installation. This means that the tires will feature an optimized arrangement of strong studs at the point of contact to ensure efficient movement on snow or ice. Also, thanks to the holding, KShZ today has new automatic control lines, test benches, a site is being built in the vulcanization shop for final operations.

In the tire industry, the Italian holding is known for applying numerous effective developments in the production of tires for safe and confident driving. Therefore, the transfer of KShZ into the ownership of Pirelli will bring positive changes and allow the plant to develop gradually and efficiently. Such cooperation opens up new markets for the sale of tire products and ensures the stability of production for a unique Kirov enterprise with a long history and serious prospects. A car enthusiast will feel confident driving a car with high-quality Pirelli tires purchased at an adequate cost.

The Kirov Tire Plant, owned by Pirelli Tire Russia LLC (a joint venture between Pirelli and Rostec, the latter has a blocking stake), is now only engaged in the production of truck and oversized tires. This was told to Vedomosti by a person close to the Italian company, and confirmed by a representative of the Russian state corporation. The reorganization of the Kirov plant was completed in the first half of 2017 - the production of passenger tires was separated into a separate entity, also owned by a joint venture - PK Kirov Tire LLC. A Pirelli spokesman did not comment on this.

The reorganization was carried out to optimize and increase efficiency production processes, say the interlocutors of Vedomosti. Previously, the Kirov plant mainly produced passenger tires (the share is not specified), the total capacity of the plant was 6 million tires per year. In 2016, he earned 224.6 million rubles. net profit with revenue of almost 4 billion rubles, according to SPARK-Interfax. In August, Rostec filed a petition with the Federal Antimonopoly Service for the acquisition of an 80% stake in the Kirov plant and received approval. “It is premature to talk about the parameters of the deal before it is completed,” a Rostec representative said.

No other changes are planned in the structure of the joint venture between Pirelli and Rostec, as well as in the structure of the second asset of the enterprise, the Voronezh Tire Plant, Vedomosti's interlocutors assure. The Voronezh plant produces passenger tires and operates at full capacity (2.2 million tires per year), about 30% of its products are exported. “We are considering the possibility of increasing the volume of production, which will be possible with additional investments. But this will happen no earlier than 2020 and only in the event of a significant increase in demand in the domestic market,” a Pirelli spokesman said in June. Pirelli's total investments in Russia exceed 460 million euros, of which 222 million euros were invested in the acquisition of the Kirov and Voronezh plants, more than 220 million euros were spent on modernization, and in 2017 it is planned to invest another 18 million euros. In 2016, Pirelli Tire Russia, with a revenue of 20.7 billion rubles. received almost 430 million rubles. net loss.

The partners, apparently, decided to focus on the more mass segment of passenger tires, and Rostec may find a partner for the production of truck and large-sized tires in the future, Raiffeisenbank analyst Konstantin Yuminov argues. Another tire holding, Cordiant, did the same. In 2013, he sold control in the Voltair-prom plant in Volgograd (produces tires for agricultural machinery) to a consortium led by the American Titan International, concentrating on car and truck tires. Whether Rostec is ready to sell a stake in the Kirov plant, the representative does not comment.

Kirov Tire Plant is a manufacturer of tires for passenger cars, light trucks and trucks, agricultural machines. The plant is a supplier of many car factories, including such giants as: Nizhny Novgorod OJSC "GAZ", Pavlovsk JSC PAZ, Tolyatinsky "AVTOVAZ" and Ulyanovsk OJSC "UAZ".
