Stained glass painting presentation. Presentation on the topic "glass painting". Historical features of glass painting

Stained glass is a form of decorative art aimed at artistic framing of empty openings on building facades. The basis of stained glass is individual elements made of glass or some types of natural stone different color soldered together. Most often, this type of art was used to decorate cathedrals and temples, filling their window niches. Skillfully executed landscapes, scenes and faces of saints, illuminated by the rays of the sun, are one of the main features of stained glass. Its beauty and originality quickly attracted people's attention and made this decorative art very popular at the beginning of the 12th century. Stained glass was quite widespread in Russia. This art became so famous and attractive that by the beginning of the 19th century, many ways to imitate original stained glass had been invented. A breakthrough in stained glass production was made by the Russian artist V.D. Sverchkov, whose workshop was located abroad. Very soon, it was his stained glass windows that decorated some of the most noble houses in St. Petersburg.

Today there are a huge number of types of stained glass.

The main ones can be identified:

1. Classic - one of the first types of stained glass, which involves the collection of a plot of simple elements soldered together with lead, brass or copper. Modern stained glass windows use metal strips. For example, in the lovely designer stained glass windows from the Tiffany salon. Similar products are made by baking at a certain temperature, or by simply soldering the elements.

2. Painted - along with film, contour and applied stained glass, this can be called a kind of imitation of technology, since it does not involve the direct selection of individual parts that create a single picture. In this case, the entire plot is applied with special transparent paints, and the contours only superficially resemble a metal solder.

3. Cast - special kind stained glass, the most effective and colorful. It involves the separate production of each element, which is cast or blown by hand. The shapes and volumes that can be created in this way allow you to achieve an incredible effect due to the multiple refraction of light.

4. Combined - a direction of stained glass art, including the use various types and manufacturing methods. In addition to the above, we can note such types of stained glass as sandblasted, sintered, natsvet (thin glass on thick), cabochon (embossed glass insert) and the “frost” pattern imitating winter patterns on the windows.

Due to its uniqueness, stained glass windows have become truly popular in our time. Today this art is no longer just an echo of the Gothic style of Europe, it is an element of modern art that can fit into any style, from rich baroque to bold modern and high-tech style. In addition, stained glass began to be used not only as a window opening, but now they can be found as a decorative addition to doors, furniture, photo frames and designer paintings, panels that complement the overall style of a particular room. Based on this, we can say that if you haven’t yet found something you like, then stained glass art is an opportunity to fill this gap.

STAINED GLASS PAINTING ON GLASS Prepared by additional education teacher Filippova V.N.

Glass is one of the most important materials in the interior of our homes. It can be found in the most different forms, performing various functions and invariably captivating our hearts with a whole kaleidoscope of highlights. And hand-painted glass will bring even more light and joy to your home! STAINED GLASS - this type of decorative and applied art attracts primarily for its accessibility: necessary materials Always on sale and at a reasonable price. Using stencils makes it possible to be creative even without special artistic skills. The best part is that you will create exclusive decorative items with your own hands. Imitation of stained glass is very popular, of course it is not exactly stained glass, but still very beautiful and relevant in our time.

In an art salon or online store you will find a wide range of special glass paints (stained glass paints) and contours. Also useful are paint thinners, which allow you to obtain light shades, brushes, and stencils. Next, decide on the item you want to paint. Regular photo frames. By painting the glass and inserting it into a frame, you will get a picture in stained glass style. Creating a real stained glass window is a very labor-intensive process, and with the help of glass paints you will create something in a few hours that will not leave anyone indifferent;

Glass utensils: glasses, glasses and goblets, decanters, various-sized salad bowls and bowls, plates, vases themselves, lanterns for tea lights, empty juice bottles and jars of interesting shapes, lampshades. They can be completely painted in stained glass style or limited to ornaments, initials, and patterns.

Glass inserts in furniture, doors and walls; Mirrors. An image in the form of a frame or just a drawing in a corner will enliven an unremarkable mirror.

Be sure to keep in mind that surfaces painted with paint should not come into contact with food, so if you decide to make a pattern on the utensils used for their intended purpose, do it from the outside. Additionally, various rhinestones, beads, beads, small amber chips, colored sand, sparkles are used - all this is glued to the surface of the object and creates a magnificent decorative effect.

The painting algorithm is as follows: 1. The surface of the glass is degreased with an alcohol-containing liquid or detergent, drying. 2. The selected pattern is printed on the printer, the right size. To transfer the design to the product, carbon paper is used: we place the carbon paper, the sketch on top, and the entire structure is secured with masking tape to avoid shifts. Alternatively, use ready stencil from the set. Or the sketch is applied to the back of the glass and the image is transferred with a felt-tip pen.

3. Next, use contour paste (your choice: gold, silver, transparent or classic black) to outline the drawing, making sure that the lines are closed. After the contour has completely dried (from 30 minutes to 3 hours), fill the drawing with paint, starting with large parts.

4. In order not to miscalculate the color of the composition, it is recommended to first create a color sketch on paper. Usually the color scheme is done in the colors of the interior. To prevent spreading, the side of the object to be painted is positioned strictly horizontally until the paint dries. During the work, the transparency of the pattern is checked, because the ability to transmit light is main value stained glass that allows you to create colorful highlights. It is convenient to mix and dilute paints on a glass palette, placing a white sheet of paper under it (to more accurately determine the color).

5. Blemishes are removed with a cotton swab soaked in solvent. Air bubbles formed in the picture are immediately removed with a toothpick or the tip of a cloth - otherwise there will be a “hole” after drying. At the end of work, brushes are cleaned with solvent and wiped dry with a napkin. 6. For durability, the design is coated with acrylic glass varnish. This is done in about a day (check the instructions), when the drawing is completely dry. Ready product Can be safely washed in warm water with detergents.

This is how you can make a magnificent fairy-tale glass panel with your own hands, decorated with stained glass painting.
