Necessary materials for DIY decoupage of a tray and porcelain cups:

Tray and porcelain cups.
. Acrylic paints of silver-metallic color.
. Light acrylic paints.
. Paper napkin.
. Glass glue.
. Universal glue for decoupage.
. One-component product to create the effect of aging.
. Contour paints on glass in silver and black colors.
. Jar for liquid glass.
. Wooden stick.
. Sponge.
. Brush.
. Scissors.

Decorating the tray

So, in order for the decoupage master class on making a tray and cups to turn out great, first of all, paint the surface of the tray silver.

While the paint is drying, prepare a design - a decoupage napkin. It is best to choose a napkin with a romantic, barely noticeable sketch motif and tear off the desired fragments of the ornament. Separate the top layer with the pattern.

Place the motifs at the bottom of the tray and spread a one-component varnish around them for an aging effect (craquelure varnish). Apply it in places to the walls of the tray. Let dry.

Using a sponge, cover the entire tray with light paint.

When the light paint has dried, glue the napkin fragments with universal decoupage glue. Apply glue to the surface of the napkins. Leave to dry. If you also pasted the drawings onto the walls of the tray, do not forget to varnish them.

Working with liquid glass

Now fill the bottom of the tray with liquid glass. First, pour the first and second components into the jar. There should be an equal amount of them, so if you are decorating small objects (for example, jewelry) and will not use the entire amount of glass at once, you can measure it with a medical syringe.

Using a stick, mix both components until you get a homogeneous mass.

Pour the mixture onto a tray.

Using a stick or brush, spread the glass evenly over the entire bottom and leave to harden. While it is liquid, you can eliminate any air bubbles that have formed. Leave it to harden (it will harden in about four hours, and will be completely hardened after 24 hours). At this time, work on the porcelain cups. Wash them and remove fat with alcohol.

Decorating porcelain cups

Now we will tell you how to decoupage porcelain cups. Decorate the cups with the same motifs from the napkin, just do not tear them off, but carefully cut them out. Separate the white layers and glue the design with glass glue, which does not need to be fired in the oven.

Bring your drawing to life with contour paints on glass. First, highlight some areas with silver paints.

Emphasize the design with black tones. Once the outline paints have dried, coat it again with glass glue. Mug stand using the Decoupage technique. Master class with step-by-step photos.

Raisa Ivanovna Bolba, additional education teacher I qualification category, MBOU DOD Center for Technical Creativity, Belaya Kalitva.

This master class is intended for children of secondary school age, teachers of additional education, as well as all lovers of needlework.

Purpose: mug stand, DIY gift.

Target: making a mug stand.

Tasks:
- introduce the technique of decorating objects using decoupage;
- improve skills in working with paint, glue, napkins;
- cultivate dedication, accuracy, artistic taste.

About 20-30 years ago, coasters for mugs took a strong place in the life of almost every person, and they began to choose an original name for them. The most popular were bonfire, coaster and beermat. The name "birdekel" was borrowed from German language and translated means the lid of a beer mug. In Germany there were beer mugs that had lids on top. Such mugs cost a lot of money, and in beer shops beer in these mugs was served only to wealthy people. A simple people they drank beer from ordinary mugs with a small felt circle on top. The Germans put this mug under the mug so that it would not get in the way, and at the same time absorb any accidentally spilled beer. Thus, the lid was renamed into a mug stand.
Later, various companies began placing their advertisements on mug stands. Travel enthusiasts bring with them from various countries such mug coasters with various designs or inscriptions as souvenirs.
We will make a stand for a mug from old CDs, old postcards and napkins with a pattern.

For work we will need the following materials:
- CDs,
- old postcards,
- napkins with a pattern,
- white acrylic paint,
- gouache,
- beautiful cord,
- pencil,
- scissors,
- hair dryer,
- PVA glue,
- glue "Moment-Crystal".

Sequence of work:
For one stand you need to cut out 2 circles from postcards. Colored cardboard will not work, because... Repeated application of paint and glue will warp. The postcards have a laminated layer on one side and do not warp when applying paint and glue.

Apply Moment glue to the disk and glue the cardboard circle first on one side, then on the other.

The lower part of the stand can be painted with gouache and varnished, or you can leave it as is.

So, let's start decorating the stand. Apply paint, for example green, using a swab.

The paint can be dried with a hairdryer. Then apply PVA glue to the dry surface. The thicker the glue, the smaller the cracks on the surface of the stand will be.

Apply white acrylic paint to the slightly dried glue and quickly dry it with a hairdryer. Under a stream of hot air, cracks form in the paint - crackle.

Cut out your favorite motif from a napkin. If the napkin is multi-layered, then we use only the top layer with the pattern.

Place a napkin on the stand and drip PVA glue

And spread it from the middle to the edges of the motif.

Add a small inscription that will balance the composition.

Cover the mug stand with a layer of thick construction PVA. After complete drying, we decorate the end of the stand with a cord, which we glue using Moment-Crystal glue.

The mug stand is ready.

Another stand and crackle fragment:

And here are the options for decorating the stands:

These mug coasters are convenient to use at work during your lunch break.

Good luck to everyone who wants to repeat this master class!

Do-it-yourself napkins and decoupage cups for a New Year's set

You want to please your loved one with something special and give him a nice gift. Especially when you start to believe in magic, as if on schedule. There are many in the world magical days, but it is the Christmas and New Year holidays that leave the most important mark of the year. No snow storms, cold weather or ice floes can freeze the atmosphere that appears during the New Year holiday! That's why we try to create something new, experiment with different ideas for gifts for loved ones and decorate our apartments. Anxious preparation for the celebration of a future celebration ends with the fact that we sometimes forget about the most important thing. But the most important thing is to congratulate your loved ones and give them a nice gift. Try to find a beautiful and original idea, with the help of which the person to whom you are going to give the gift will receive a unique means of use and a cherished memory of you.

Do-it-yourself napkins and decoupage cups for a New Year's set

What exactly will help us make a good gift for loved one and what role will the technology we are talking about play in this? Undoubtedly, the main source of opportunities for any handicraft master is a set of materials. In this case, you may need a set of necessary materials, which are easy to find right at home. In addition, such a gift will never be forgotten by a loved one; he will use it throughout for long years.
In this article we will try to speculate and try a method for creating a gift for a loved one. The method will be based on the popular decoupage technique, as well as the possibilities that it carries within itself. It should immediately be noted that this technique makes it possible to decorate a wide variety of objects and our example is not the only one. But, closer to the point! Of course, for your loved one you need to design something that will remind you of the past holiday and, as a rule, will become necessary. We are talking about an ordinary cup that can be bought in any store. But not everyone can make their own design and uniquely decorate such a cup. It is for these reasons that decoupage issues should be looked at from a new angle. This technique will be useful to those who are just starting their journey in the world of needlework and do not yet have sufficient knowledge. How to work on a cup? So let's get to work. Do you know that decoupage of a glass surface or cup is simply impossible in the form in which we are accustomed to seeing it? Yes, such a cup cannot be decoupaged using the priming method. That is why we will cut out our drawings and templates from napkins and attach them to the cup. To do this, you will need to cut out the motif and then separate the necessary motif, which will need to be glued. Using a special method, it is necessary to separate the layer of paper and glue the white layer using the usual method, without using the image. Now, we wait until our glue dries. You can also speed up the process by using a hair dryer. Next, we must paint the element using white paint. But, best of all, do not paint to the very edges, so that when gluing the napkin has the opportunity to stretch a little. There are also decoupage cards that you can use to stick the desired design on the product. Decoupage cards differ from their smaller brothers - napkins, in that they have a more strict shape, clear lines and the ability to recreate various compositions on products. At the same time, working with a decoupage card is much easier. But, if you don’t have the opportunity to buy a decoupage card, that’s okay; it should work just as well with a regular napkin. By the way, do not forget that the motif of your napkin should be within the framework of an event, such as New Year or Christmas. A white outline of a deer, Father Frost or Santa Claus is the most successful solution to this problem. After the paint has dried, we can carry out our actions by gluing a colored layer of napkin onto our decoupage element. If somehow the paint begins to protrude from the borders of our product, you need to cut off this element using a stationery knife. But, you need to trim, and not clean, since acrylic paint dries and forms a solid film. Preparing the decor for the cup When your motives are ready, you will have to do the most exciting part - decorating the cup. The pictures need to be tinted, for this we will use paint. We will also select the necessary varnish. Automotive version of varnish with spray - will be the best option. But, we will also provide a distance along the edges of the product so that the lips do not touch harmful substances. To do this, we will use mounting-type tape. Next, using acrylic paints, we cover a layer of varnish. If you use a stained glass version of paints, you can refuse varnish.
In this way, you can create a very convenient and beautiful graphic element that will be placed on a cup for your loved one. He will be able to drink his favorite drink from a beautiful mug and at the same moment remember the person who gave him this item. Don't forget that using various options sparkles, outlines and other elements, you can add decorations inside the product.

DIY switch decoupage Wedding decoupage of a glass and a master class with photos for the set

How nice it is to drink your favorite drink from a beautiful and original cup. And at home it’s not at all difficult to decorate any plain cup. The whole job takes one hour. That is, in any free time you can sit comfortably at the table and start decorating the cup.

  • Cup without a picture.
  • Napkin for decoupage.
  • Acrylic paints of different colors.
  • White outline for ceramics or universal.
  • PVA glue.
  • Scissors.
  • Varnish for ceramics or any decorative art.
  • Empty unnecessary cup or lid.
  • A medium-sized brush and another small thin one.
  • Cotton wool.
  • Alcohol or any degreaser.

First, you need to treat the entire cup with a degreaser in order to remove all the stains on it. Take a splash of alcohol on a cup or cotton wool and wipe the entire cup. Now, you need to take the cup carefully so as not to leave fingerprints on it.

Next, take a napkin with a design you like and use scissors to cut out fragments of the picture. The napkin consists of three parts and we need to remove two unnecessary layers and leave only the last layer with the applied pattern.

Pour some PVA glue into an empty glass and dilute it with plain water. You need very little water. We will glue our napkin onto this composition.

Place a napkin on the cup and, starting from the center, glue the napkin in small pieces. The brush should be well soaked in glue. And when we use the brush, we try not to rub it several times in one place, otherwise the napkin is very thin and can tear.

We take a hairdryer and start drying the cup. PVA glue dries in literally five minutes. When the glue dries, the napkin becomes dull and needs to be given brightness and color. To do this, I took acrylic paints and started painting over bullfinches and spruce branches. After painting, we also dry the cup with a hairdryer.

Now I took a white outline and made “hooks” and “dots” in random order. Since my cup is red and the bullfinches are also the same color, I needed some kind of finishing between the colors and I thought white fit perfectly. If your cup is white, then you won’t need any finishing.

The contour was also dried with a hairdryer. Now I took a decorative varnish and painted the entire design in two layers. Each layer was pre-dried with a hairdryer. When opening the cup, we try not to let the varnish go beyond the edges of the design, but also to paint it completely. The quality of the varnish will determine how long the design on the cup will last you. If the picture is well varnished, the picture will not wash off.

Now our cup is ready. Enjoy your tea!

Decoupage is an amazing and very exciting technique of modern needlework, with which you can create beautiful and original things with your own hands that decorate not only the interior of your home, but also items necessary in everyday life. The main materials used to decorate various items are decoupage napkins, rice and mulberry papers, as well as decoupage cards. Even with the help of individual elements or scenes, you can decorate any item. For example,
you can create key holders, boards, plates, cups, clocks, trays and much more. These things are also considered unique gifts that you can present to your family and friends.

So, today we will look at detailed decoupage glass mug with step-by-step description and photographs.

Materials for work:

  • A small glass cup is the basis for decoration;
  • Napkin for decoupage with an autumn motif and with the image of a hedgehog and a squirrel;
  • Gold acrylic paint;
  • White acrylic paint;
  • Scissors and two brushes, one of them is for decoupage in the shape of a fan, and the other is artificial, with the help of which we will apply gold paint;
  • PVA glue;
  • One is glass and the other is ceramic bowls;
  • Acrylic glossy varnish;
  • Foam sponge and garbage bag.

Pour white paint into a glass plate, take a sponge, dip it in the paint and paint the entire surface of the cup.

We applied the first layer of paint, but did not paint the bottom. We try to paint carefully so as not to stain the handle and bottom with paint. Place the cup and let the paint dry (about an hour). After an hour, check if the paint is dry. Now we can continue.

Apply a second coat of paint. It will just take a little longer for the paint to dry. Carefully turn the cup upside down and dry the product. You can also lightly blow dry it, but don't overdo it.

We apply another third layer of paint to completely paint over all areas and spots. For a wooden base, two layers of paint are enough, but for a glass base, three is better. Leave the product until completely dry.

While the cup is drying, we will prepare a napkin.

Unfold the napkin and cut it into 2 equal halves.

Carefully remove the top layer. Don’t be upset if the napkin accidentally breaks; everything can always be fixed and glued back together, which is what’s so good about decoupage.

Apply the top layer to the cup, as in the photo.

Take a second ceramic plate and dilute water with PVA glue in equal proportions and mix thoroughly. This is an adhesive mixture. We take a decoupage brush and start from the center of the cup by gluing the napkin with the adhesive mixture, first one side and then the other.

We completely cover the cup, leaving the bottom and the rim near it transparent. Carefully place the product on a napkin and let the glue dry.

When the mug is completely dry, apply a layer of acrylic varnish to the surface of the cup. Wait for the varnish to dry completely, then apply a second layer of varnish. A total of 5-7 layers of varnish are applied to the cup. Gloss varnish adds shine to the surface.

When the cup is completely dry, all we have to do is apply gold paint along the edge of the cup. Again you need to let the paint dry. It doesn't take much time, about 10 minutes.

All that remains is to paint the base of the cup, as in the photo.

Our cup is ready! Thank you for your attention! I wish you creative success!
