In the field of culture, science, in the life of society and in the activities of organizations, colossal changes are taking place. In the future, hitherto unprecedented spiritual renewal of the individual, the assertion of freedom, the development of society, and the improvement of morality are possible. In the future, people will begin to live in harmony with nature, with each other, and reason will rule the world like never before.

PREFACE

For eight years I have been studying network marketing and writing papers on this topic. Over the years, I have had to interview prominent businessmen more than once. They talked about their victories, but kept silent about how they achieved them. It wasn't until I read this book by Mark and Renee Yarnell that I was fully informed about this business.

Mark Yarnell is an open person and an excellent conversationalist. Most people become surprisingly taciturn when asked to reveal the secret of their success. The brand is distinguished by its unique ability to speak clearly, imaginatively and with a sense of humor about its experience in managing of this business. Many of his instructive stories and analytical remarks, voiced during numerous and very interesting interviews, were included in my book “The Third Wave.”

Renee Yarnell looks just like her wonderful husband. Together they are an unbreakable team. Together they passed all the tests. In their book they honestly talk about both difficult and good times in their lives, give a true picture of what it means to work in network marketing and what success can be achieved in it.

The authors of this book do not promise readers that you can get rich quick in this business. Mark and Rene Yarnell had a very hard time getting to their millions. Their formula for success is simple and ruthless. It involves a lot of work and superhuman perseverance. But the one who can do this will become a financially independent person.

This book analyzes the shortcomings in the activities of novice networkers and tells how to avoid them. Each position is confirmed real stories from life. For those who are serious about engaging in network marketing, familiarity with this book is a must.

INTRODUCTION

According to Webster's Dictionary, "to survive is to continue to exist when others have perished." The most amazing thing about network marketing is that in many cases it was the ability to survive, that is, the ability to stay in business when others left it, that led to prosperity. Our business is characterized by the fact that it is associated with large physical and moral costs. However, there are few people who, by working hard in network marketing, will not eventually become successful. Those who have not achieved success, as a rule, harm themselves by constantly reinventing the wheel.

Of course, people have different priorities: for some, material well-being is important, and for others, moral satisfaction. Some people get into network marketing just to feel more confident, learn how to achieve more, and expand their circle of friends. Despite the fact that their profits are relatively small, they enjoy doing business. In this book you will read many stories about the wonderful opportunities this amazing business provides.

In network marketing, you can either succeed or fail. If a person wants to succeed, he should not leave this business in the first year. If you stick with network marketing for the first year, you can be sure that in the near future you will achieve material wealth that you never dreamed of.

95% of people who stay in network marketing in the first year, as our statistics show, either receive incredible financial rewards, or the opportunity to completely freely manage their own time, that is, do what they want and communicate with those with whom they want.

Network marketing is, quite literally, the last bastion of free enterprise. It allows people to invest minor financial resources and with persistence, receive stunning profits. This business does not have the disadvantages of a traditional business: payroll, employee benefit costs, advertising, overhead, accounting, accounts receivable. But network marketing has its pitfalls, and to be successful, it is important to be aware of them and know how to work around them. This is exactly what the book will be about.

Network marketing originated in the 1940s. That's when Nutrilite Products, Inc. first resorted to network marketing when selling nutritional supplements, and ten years later the Amway company - when selling household goods. Over the past 55 years, this business has evolved into a legitimate and effective distribution channel, ideally suited to the new wave that will soon sweep the business world. We are grateful to Rick DeVos and Jay Van Andel for being pioneers in this business. In the USA alone, the volume of turnover in network marketing is approximately 20 billion dollars; At the same time, about 8 million people are employed in this business. In total, a wide range of goods and services totaling more than $100 billion are sold in this way; There are a total of 30 million independent distributors in network marketing. If we consider that this business arose relatively recently, then we can say that it has a promising future. As is clear from the forecasts made in a number of studies, already at the beginning of the 21st century in Western countries about a third of goods and services will be sold through a network marketing system. And in developing countries this figure can reach 50%.

It allows people to make staggering profits with a small investment and perseverance.

As is clear from forecasts made in a number of studies, already at the beginning of the 21st century in Western countries, about a third of goods and services will be sold through the network marketing system. And in developing countries this figure can reach 50%.

Historically, network marketing began with personal care products, vitamins, nutritional supplements, household items, recreational and educational products. Since the 1980s, the share accounted for by services, especially in the field of telecommunications, which are not regulated by the government, has been increasing. Other services include: credit card services, financial services, insurance, legal services services provided on an advance payment basis, as well as tourism services, services within the framework of self-improvement and motivation development programs. Taking into account the ongoing decentralization of the public utilities sector - this process began in 1998 and will end in 2002 - network companies are preparing to work in this area.

An obvious indication that network marketing has already emerged as a business is the fact that currently trading operations in shares of 20 network companies are carried out within the framework of the automatic quotation system of the National Association of Stock Dealers (USA), as well as on the New York Stock Exchange. There are still many companies ready to issue their own shares. In order to formalize an initial public offering of their shares, companies must have a standard accounting system and be prepared to audit their valuable papers and monitoring of their activities by the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Thus, in order to issue their shares, these companies must meet very high standards, which further enhances the status of network companies.

Investor reaction to activity marketing companies, issuing the corresponding shares, was amazing. The Upline magazine, which publishes information about the activities of industrial companies, has established its own index (Upline index), reflecting financial position network companies issuing their own shares. In 1996, this index showed an increase of more than 63% in the market value of shares of network companies; the growth of the average Dow Jones index for industrial companies was only 33%, and the growth of one of the most important stock indexes of the value of securities, Standard Poor’s, was 34%.

The fact that the financial position of network companies is almost twice as good as that of traditional corporations has aroused unusual interest among investors.

In order to start working in network marketing, a person only needs to have 200–300 dollars.

This amount covers the cost of most widely recognized products and services. The essence of business is the word of mouth offering of products and services; Moreover, the distribution system involves the provision of products or services from the manufacturer directly to the consumer, bypassing intermediate sales agents and dealers. By promoting products or services in this way, people working in network marketing receive compensation, the amount of which is equal to advertising costs large corporations. After all, their story about the product is the best advertisement.

Over the years of working together for 20 years in network marketing, we recorded about 20 audio tapes. The most popular one is called: “If network marketing is really great, then why am I depressed?” In it, we dared to talk about the fact that in the first years of work we felt a desire to leave this business. Unfortunately, many people heard this information too late; And while they humored the challenges of their first year in network marketing, most of them had lost the enthusiasm they needed to succeed. Once people lose the enthusiasm and motivation to get them through difficult times, once they lose the excitement, their chance of achieving financial well-being decreases dramatically.

In this business, it is much easier to recruit a new distributor than to bring back someone who has left. We hope that this book will help restore the confidence of several thousand disillusioned networkers once they read the true stories told by people who have become living legends in this business.

One of these people is Doug Weed, a man who works for the very first and largest networking company.

On the evening that the Gulf War began, Doug Weed, special adviser to President Bush, was interviewed by Dan Rather 1
Dan Rather is a television journalist, author and newscaster. – Here and further approx. ed.

His statements were quoted by such publications as Time, Newsweek, U.S. News and World Report”, “Washington Post”, “Wall Street Journal”, etc. He is the author of 26 books published in 15 languages, with a circulation of 3 million copies.

After a six-year political career, Doug Weed spent 20 years building his own network marketing structure while also working scientific research in this area. He is the author of books on network marketing. He has spoken at seminars and presentations in Poland, Hungary, France, Turkey, Great Britain, Austria, Indonesia and the USA. Thousands of people gathered in science classrooms and football stadiums to see and hear him.

This man has achieved a lot. And how does he use his influence, authority, money, and the ability to freely manage his time? In 1979 he co-founded charitable organization Mercy Corps International, which last year supplied $73 million worth of medicines and household items to various countries around the world.

Now let's see how Doug himself vividly and humorously describes his first year in network marketing.

“Probably most people involved in network marketing are sadomasochists on a subconscious level. It seems that it is the thirst for punishment that brings them into network marketing in the first place. “I will probably feel bad here, and this is exactly what I need,” they reason.

Could I have known that I would achieve success, make money, travel around the world, meet the president, do charity work? Do you understand? Everything in my life did not happen as it should: I couldn’t even fall as expected.

In this sense, my first objectively difficult steps in network marketing did not bring me disappointment. I had no shortage of rejections. Each of them brought me satisfaction. I met people who refused much more often than those whom I was able to recruit. Every time I received a refusal, I was once again convinced that I was not capable of anything. Malnutrition, lack of sleep or lack of money were like a well-deserved reward to me. I never thought I could achieve the American dream.

The problem was not one of money, people, product or time and was not physical, but philosophical in nature. I knew I could do it. Anyone could do this. But I didn’t know if it was worth doing this and spending my life on it. I was tormented by doubts and so that they would not devastate me, I had to solve this problem.

It was here that for the first time in my life I met a truly worthy opponent in network marketing. This business, based on emotions, turned out to be completely deaf to my serious emotional and psychological quests. Having fallen between its gears, I only had to think about how to survive and move on. There was no question of leaving this business. And as I fed this monster, it grew and grew.

They kept telling me: “Don’t lose heart. You must!" But I couldn't think of anything else. There were no options for me. And my business grew.

Yes, this business is tough. Yes, defeats and losses are possible in battles. But I did not want to put up with poverty and fought against it.

I am now one of the founders of a charity called Mercy Corps International. Last year, we distributed $73 million worth of food and medical supplies around the world. For myself, I found the answer to the question “why”.

We hope that this book will help you find the answer to the question “why”. We believe that this book is useful for networkers who have just signed a contract. This will help them avoid mistakes before they lose the initial excitement as it will be very difficult for them to regain motivation.

The first year in this business is just preparation for the battle. This book will teach you how to survive among people who fail. You may not even be aware of the impending danger and suddenly find yourself in an ambush, having lost one of the branches of your downline. One of the goals of this book is to teach you to recognize in advance the enemies who are capable of stealing part of the structure you have created from you. With the necessary skills, you can cope with them and survive.

Yes, it's just about survival. In the first year of work, more than 60% of newcomers leave network marketing. This is evidenced both by our own experience and by statistics available from several other network companies. But, having spent on learning how to work in network business one or two years, you will earn as much per month as a pediatric cardiologist with 10 years of experience earns in a year. And this takes into account the fact that vocational training doctors require 12 years. And the failure rate in our business is no greater than in any other profession where people earn commissions.

Problems are inevitable. But in this book we will introduce beginner networkers to the methods and techniques with which they can win many battles.

It is generally accepted that people who cannot be classified as lucky go into this business, and this statement has some basis. Unfortunately, when starting a new business, we are, at least at the first stage, very vulnerable. And although the learning process in network marketing is relatively short, it can be quite challenging for many beginners. The main reason for this is not difficult to understand. We all don't like to be rejected; and there is nothing worse than rejection from friends, relatives and acquaintances. It is very easy for a person to lose self-confidence if, for four or five months, every day everyone he knows, loves and respects rejects him and ridicules him. However, if you know what to expect and are not afraid to appear intrusive by deceiving, flattering and annoying your loved ones, working in network marketing, even at the initial stage, becomes a relatively painless experience. Two things are very important: you need to be prepared for this work and know what to expect from it.

In this book, we will tell you how to prepare for most of the inevitable problems that arise in the first year of work. We will teach you how to overcome these problems, introduce you to the appropriate work techniques - we will not be talking about theoretical calculations, but about facts. You must be prepared for the fact that problems are inevitable, but always solvable if you just show persistence. If you manage to survive the first year, if you don't quit the business and don't lose your sense of humor, you will most likely achieve success and financial well-being.

Working together with Harvard University Ph.D. Charles King in training top managers and chief administrators of network companies and firms at courses at the University of Illinois at Chicago - these are the only courses in the United States that have college status and issue their students with an appropriate certificate - we learned a lot from our listeners. And we will do our best to teach novice distributors how to survive. The methods we will tell you about have helped the most successful leaders of our business from around the world survive their first year of work. If you survive the first year, you have a real chance of becoming one of the people who are living legends in network marketing.

Do you think our network marketing career had a rosy start? Rene and I repeatedly found ourselves in very unpleasant situations, but each time we got out of them safely. Let's start with the fact that my father considered network marketing an unworthy occupation and was against his son being involved in this business, disgracing the family name. A sensation-hungry journalist, knowing that Rene was the chairman of the County Commission, asked the Nevada Attorney General to conduct an investigation into the activities of our company, hoping that some scandalous story would come to light during the investigation. We know what it means to lose six or seven of the best leaders at once, who, out of the blue, go to a company that came out of nowhere new company. We experienced the betrayal of one of our close friends, who stole an entire branch of the downline from us. We lost a lot of precious time by overprotecting those who did not want to duplicate us. We felt guilty for not being able to take root in this business. to a close friend, whom we signed.

We will teach you how to overcome all these pitfalls that prevent success, and show you how to avoid them on the path to achieving the freedom you strive for.

In the book “Possibilities of Network Marketing” we presented theoretical calculations. But in this book, the main attention was focused on the practical side of the problem, because knowing what needs to be done already solves any problem by 90%.

We'll walk you through the survival techniques that living legends in the business used during their first year in network marketing, and we hope our tips will help you thrive.

In the entire history of capitalism, it is network marketing that provides people with the greatest opportunities. And we must consider that we are among the chosen ones - those people who have the opportunity to work in this business.

When a publisher approached us with an offer to write a book, shortly after the smash success of Richard Poe's The Third Wave, we enthusiastically accepted the offer.

We are convinced that the survival of network marketing is determined not by antagonism between companies, but by their cooperation. The success of this business depends on the growth of network companies and the improvement of products. When something fails network company, everyone suffers, this is confirmed by the history of the development of this business. And if one or more companies are under threat, we remember the first settlers in the Wild West, who, when attacked by Indians, lined up their tents in a ring, and take up a perimeter defense - we combine our efforts.

Divide and conquer tactics are common to traditional businesses, which seek to undermine our business through the media and government regulators. We treat all companies with respect, even if they are not in our business, and we believe that traditional businesses should do the same.

Over 20 years of working in network marketing, we have communicated with thousands of people in different countries peace. We have heard various, sometimes unflattering, reviews about our business, but the freedom inherent in network marketing sets it apart from traditional business, which is compared to the notorious “rat race.” These rodents were poisoned and destroyed as carriers of the infection, because of which an epidemic of the black plague broke out in England, which claimed many lives. They were persecuted and exterminated, and every day could be their last.

“When I moved to Seattle,” says Betty Carter, former vice president of the Pacific Stock Exchange, “what I encountered amazed me.

The rapid development of just two corporations has turned the city into some kind of crazy track. The city's population increased by hundreds of thousands of people every month. Traffic speeds on major highways have dropped to 21 miles 2
A mile is a unit of length used in the United States and is equal to 1.609 km.

At one o'clock.

The crime rate has increased. Social problems have worsened. The environment has noticeably deteriorated.

The fact is that when traditional business companies grow, streams of people are thrown onto the streets, turning into persecuted “rats.” Thank God, by doing network marketing, I am freed from this need and can run my business at home.”

It will be a long time before people in traditional business understand that network marketing is a smart alternative to traditional business.

The author of You Can Do It, Arthur Williams, suggests that we are missionaries called to "save" people - at least those who want to listen to us - from the madness of the 8 o'clock working week, middle income, and stress-related cardiovascular disease.

Many energetic people left our business because they were not prepared for the battles that can be faced in the first year of working in network marketing. Even our living legends admit that at the beginning of their careers they were vulnerable, anxious and depressed. We hope that thanks to this book you will not have to suffer the losses that we suffered. Our book will help you stay in this business in the first, most difficult, year and achieve your American dream.

Do whatever it takes to stay in business, and if you can survive the first year, you will achieve incredible success.
