Virtual exhibitions. Typology. Structure. Creation technique. Name of the museum and its location

You have reserved space at an upcoming exhibition. Of course, we chose the most visited one. And the location is also good. But this is only half the success. To truly get your company noticed, you need a creative stand. Protoplan will tell you what needs to be taken into account so that not a single visitor passes by.

Forget about the banal table skirt and boring curtain background. Why spend money on them if it doesn't help you stand out from the crowd of exhibitors? People rarely approach the dim, poorly lit booth, which looks like all the others, like a twin brother. The stand should reflect the ideas and range of your brand. And only by embodying the creative ideas of your team, you will create something that will attract new clients to you.

1. Use branding in your exhibition stand design

Strong branding is the first rule marketing strategy any company. It reflects the style of your communication with clients. By paying attention to branding, you let people know what makes your business and your offering unique. Branding is no less important when designing and creating an exhibition stand. By labeling each element of your stand in accordance with your corporate style, you create a harmonious appearance, which is difficult to forget. And most importantly, you allow your partners and clients—current and future—to know about your product or service at first glance.

However, exhibition stand branding may go beyond the strict guidelines prescribed in the marketing strategy. Sometimes it is appropriate to use colors and shapes that are not in your company logo. Is your company serious and professional, or maybe playful and friendly? Maybe you profess eco ideas? All this must be taken into account when choosing colors and shapes for an exhibition stand.

Your company's brand should be alive - it should come to life at the exhibition, be as close as possible to potential clients. Create an atmosphere that reflects your company's ideas. For example, a clean and simple stand design will reflect the company's serious attitude, and with proper lighting of the stand areas, it will draw attention to specific products. And if you add interactivity - for example, VR glasses, in which customers can see your products in action, then there will be no end to visitors at the exhibition.

2. Arrange a photo shoot to attract exhibition visitors to your company’s stand

An elementary, but very effective technique for attracting the attention of exhibition visitors in a world dominated by selfies and Instagram. If your budget allows for a photo booth, great. If not, then a simple but high-quality cardboard design in the form of a photo frame with a bright design and a small but noticeable logo of your company will bring you tremendous traffic. Photography helps break the ice when meeting new people and makes it possible to strike up a casual conversation with someone who may very soon become your client. The perfect photo backdrop turns your exhibition stand into an interactive source of entertainment.

Instead of a photo frame, you can use a retractable banner with a photo background, which will have not just a bright picture, but also a logo with business information, for example, the website address. To decide what should be on the banner, carry out brainstorm with your team, let them, based on their experience of communicating with clients, come up with ideas that can attract the “average” exhibition visitor, stop his gaze on the picture, remember it and your brand.

You can attract attention to the opportunity to take photos at the exhibition with the help of animators. Prepare fun props that you can hand out to visitors, or even costume pieces that fit your company's style. Everyone will want to take a photo with the fitness lady at the exhibition sports nutrition or with a video game character at an electronics expo. You can turn one of your banner design elements into a real object so people can interact with it and get a “3D experience.” This is definitely not forgotten.

Take photos and post them on your social networks with some catchy hashtag. This will show customers that you are not a soulless corporation and that you have a personal connection with them. Tag people in photos so their friends can see these posts - this will expand your audience.

And if you want to collect a database, ask exhibition visitors to leave you their address Email so you can send them a photo. Let your exhibition stand have flags or some other elements where your website addresses and social media account names will be placed with a request to subscribe to your company or even to a newsletter about discounts on products.

All these simple steps will allow your company to stay in touch and work with your audience after the exhibition.

There are other ways effective use social networks for work at the exhibition to attract people to the stand. But you need to start working with them long before the event in order to create an information field and excitement around your participation in the exhibition. Come up with original hashtags for your posts so that users can easily find your posts on the Internet. Find out from the exhibition organizers whether the project will have its own hashtag. Use that too. And create a unique tag for your stand.

Tell future exhibition visitors what unique exhibits will be at your stand, share your brand ideology and business style, and try to convince people to come to your stand at the exhibition.

At the event, continue to use social media - create a buzz. Publish photos and texts about what events you are participating in during the exhibition, what you are presenting, what promotions you are organizing at your stand, and share your impressions. Stream live from the exhibition using a regular smartphone on Facebook Live and invite viewers to your stand. A message about your broadcast will be seen by everyone who has not subscribed to your account. Encourage your readers and visitors to use your hashtags to spread the word.

Use geotags in your posts, tag with active links via @ Exhibition Center, the exhibition organizer, and perhaps some visitors.

4. Invite exhibition visitors to come to your stand

The design of your exhibition stand directly affects communication with visitors. A long “bar counter” at the front of the stand creates an obvious boundary between you and traffic, it keeps people at a distance. You are on one side, clients are on the other. And this often creates a barrier in communication.

Get rid of the counter and create a space where visitors can physically enter. Install an interactive display or at least a monitor, thanks to which visitors can receive information about your company, even if they are just passing by. Try installing racks or shelves inside your stand, place products on them that you can hold in your hands, and lay out booklets. Another functional option is a stand with a tablet, on the screen of which a catalog or video presentation can be displayed.

5. Offer at the exhibition what all your clients want

The ideal free giveaway will not only make your brand as famous as possible at the exhibition, but will also attract great amount visitors to the stand - they will all want this “thing” that they see in the hands of other exhibition guests. If your company works in the field of gardening and landscape design, give people seedlings, flowers, and bags of seeds. For a car exhibition, special driver's glasses are suitable - for premium clients, as well as car stickers available to each company or original interior fresheners.

In this age of technology, the ability to charge your phone for free at your booth is another powerful tool to attract visitors. Exhibitors spend a lot of time on their smartphones, checking email and social networks and calling the office. Gadgets run out of charge quickly, and recharging takes up the time that visitors can spend at your stand. Set up a station with cords for different devices, brand it, and while your guests are charging their gadgets, feel free to tell them about your company.

6. Think big to attract traffic to your stand

You can make an attractive exhibition stand of a standard height, but stands that can be seen from afar attract enormous attention. Include components that are set above standards, the way they will be the beacon of your business.

Flags, displays, banners, structures - static, glowing, moving - are clearly visible from afar, and visitors want to know what is below. Vinyl banners suspended from the ceiling, a large screen with a promotional video - all this will work perfectly. Of course, installing such structures at a stand requires good logistics and compliance technical standards. Therefore, make sure whether the exhibition organizers can implement your idea.

7. Make a unique offer at the exhibition

A special offer just for exhibitors is a great way to encourage customers to come to your stand and close the deal on the same day. Discounts cause a stir, which attracts even more people. Those who might purchase your product or service anyway will receive a powerful incentive to save. And those who couldn’t do it before get this opportunity.

To prevent your offer from looking like a giveaway, present the deal in a professional manner that matches your company's serious image. You can communicate your promotion, for example, using a well-designed digital sign - the advantage is that you can use it repeatedly.

8. Show your product in action at a trade show

If you are exhibiting a specific physical product at a trade show, be sure to show its capabilities to visitors. Let them see what it is like, how it is structured and how it works. Let the product speak for itself. Such an installation can run continuously, attracting visitors, or you can arrange presentations at a certain time - do not forget to notify the public about this.

If possible, let trade show visitors test the product themselves. However, if you are selling something large-scale, like agricultural machinery, then a video of how a combine harvester works in the field will be a suitable alternative. Play the video on a loop and let it play throughout the exhibition.

9. Take care of the lighting of your stand

The light in exhibition halls is not always ideal, but even the most modern exhibition center will not be able to provide you with individual lighting for your exhibition stand. And this is a very important point. Integrating creative lighting into your design makes your stand more visible and attractive, helps highlight certain areas, and even influences where visitors focus their attention.

10. Make it interactive at your exhibition stand

An interactive exhibition stand gives visitors the opportunity to do something, interact with the product and brand, making the visit to the stand and the company a memorable one. Testing a product, playing a game, running a contest, or giving away gifts all work great. There are several simple games that can be played at an exhibition. This format of interaction with clients creates a relaxed atmosphere, allows you to relax and begin productive communication.

One of the most effective games at the exhibition is an analogue of an Easter egg hunt. Before the opening of the exhibition, place branded postcards at different points of the pavilion. Everyone who finds your " Easter Egg", should receive a prize. To receive it, a visitor just needs to come to your stand with a postcard. Warn that you will organize a “hunt” in advance - on social networks, on the website. Use thematic tags in your posts.

A few more tips for preparing your dream exhibition stand

●Start preparing the idea and concept of your stand as early as possible - six months before the exhibition, so that you have enough time to organize everything.

●Study your competitors, their stands, see what you can learn and do better.

●Be consistent: A simple way to tie elements of your stand together is through consistency in color, fonts and general view with your company's corporate identity.

●Invest in quality and user experience: High-quality materials used in the construction of the stand and souvenirs are very important for the right experience for visitors to the exhibition.

●Train your booth staff so that they are as prepared as possible for anything that might happen at the show. Explain in the exhibition how to invite and hold the attention of visitors, what to say and how. Ultimately, the work of exhibitors at an exhibition is no less important than the stand itself. Let your employees live up to your brand's message.

● Competent exhibition planning. Make sure that sufficient time is allocated for the task of preparing the exhibition stand. The exhibition preparation tool will help you cope in one click. ExpoPlanner will create your exhibition preparation plan with tasks and solutions for you. How nice bonus- all task deadlines are already set to the Organizer’s deadlines, and you can also add additional tasks to ExpoPlanner or edit automatic ones. This way, experienced exhibitors will save up to 70% of the time on the entire project. We recommend visiting

Vernissage "Seasons"

Dolidze Galina Nikolaevna - teacher primary classes MBOU Lyceum No. 8 of Stavropol, Stavropol Territory.

This form of work allows parents to be involved in joint activities with their children in family and school settings, and gives parents and children the opportunity to demonstrate their creative abilities.
Purpose of the exhibition: involving parents in the process of developing children’s creative abilities, identifying and promoting better experience creative activity.
Leaves. Yellow pencil -
This is an autumn landscape.
Whiteness, snowdrift, aspen -
This is a winter picture.
Snow melts, streams, drops -
It's spring here in watercolor.
Sun, meadow, full of flowers -
This is a summer canvas.
And here is your artist,
Who created all this beauty
And held a vernissage!
It is no coincidence that our vernissage is called “Seasons”; the paintings made by parents and children reflect spring and autumn, winter and summer.
During the opening day, the guys met various techniques creating paintings. Paintings attract the eye not only when they are painted in oil on canvas. No less worthy of admiration are the products that came from the hands of needlewomen.

A three-dimensional painting made from various available materials will be very impressive.

You can make three-dimensional paintings with your own hands from literally anything - the main thing is to give free rein to your imagination.
Autumn provides material for creative creative work very generously. The variety of colors and shapes that can be found in nature cannot be compared with any artificially made set for creativity: dry leaves, cones, acorns, pine needles, ash and maple seeds, lionfish, nuts and seeds of watermelon and melon, rowan and rose hips , poppy boxes and other dried flower plants, moss and tree bark. You should try to collect all the listed materials on every walk, during forays into the forest, mushroom picking, and walks in nature. You have to be careful, sometimes there may be a whole wealth lying under your feet. In addition, such collecting is very interesting and develops a child’s logical and creative vision. Children love crafts from natural material, they themselves come up with new versions of work, with passion and can sit for a long time creating the next masterpiece.
If you think that you can only sculpt various figures from salt dough, then you are mistaken. There is nothing stopping you from making a picture out of the dough.

It will decorate any interior and create a cheerful mood in your home. And such work can also be presented as a gift - the hero of the occasion will not remain indifferent to your creativity - that’s for sure!
More from Ancient Rus' This art has come to us. In those days, it was believed that gifts made by hand from dough would bring prosperity and wealth to the home. That’s why our ancestors gave each other such New Year’s crafts with their own hands for the New Year. Salt dough products were considered traditional wedding symbols.
To create a real masterpiece, you will have to try hard, but absolutely anyone can master testoplasty, especially since this technique does not require any unique abilities or expensive materials. If you set a goal, you can find everything you need without leaving home, if you wish. For children, making pictures from salt dough will be not only an interesting, but also a very useful activity, since fine motor skills of the hands are directly related to the development of speech, thinking, attention, imagination, visual and motor memory, and any joint creativity brings them together. We can safely say that modeling from salt dough is a tremendous pleasure, which, in addition to this, gives an amazing result.

Paintings made from beads using glue is a much simpler technique, accessible to a wide range of needlewomen.

However, making paintings with glue is not so much beadwork in the original sense, but “art,” one of the techniques of painting from non-standard material. To make such a picture, you need to take a finished drawing, stick it on a base - cardboard, plywood, and then mark the areas of each color and, covering them sequentially with glue, cover them with a layer of beads of the same color. The result is an amazing work of art!
There is another way to make a picture from beads using glue, also similar to applique.
The difference is that it is not pieces of paper with glued or sewn beads that are glued onto the base (cardboard, plain fabric), but individual details of the picture made using beadwork: ready-made flowers, leaves, butterflies, snowflakes.

This is a “synthetic” art form that includes several types of beadwork.
But this is wonderful - especially if your daughter or granddaughter has mastered simple techniques for creating individual flat figures from beads, they belong in the picture, and not in a desk drawer, where no one sees them!
Embroidery is one of the most popular types of needlework. Craftswomen create the most amazing and beautiful things. In this case, different stitches are used - satin stitch or cross stitch. Also, simply wonderful paintings from ribbons come out.

Handmade items amaze with their tenderness and natural beauty. Creating them is quite simple, and the whole process does not take as much time as when working with floss threads.
In ancient times, embroidering pictures from strips of fabric did not look the same as it does now. Craftswomen used ropes woven from plant fibers. Later, when weaving began to develop, ribbons appeared in modern form. The art itself, according to researchers, arose thanks to the French king Louis XV. But to this day, everyone is fascinated and intrigued by paintings from tapes. You can create a real miracle with your own hands!
At our opening day there was even a painting made of pasta.

Who would have thought that ordinary pasta is such a wonderful material for crafts! They are very convenient to glue with ordinary PVA glue, and besides, they can be painted and the colors will be bright and beautiful. There are also a lot of pasta shapes and sizes; the most common and inexpensive ones will do. First, apply the outline of the drawing, and then glue the pasta, it is better to do it on colored cardboard.
Paintings made using the quilling technique fascinate with their beauty and deserve attention from fans of paper rolling and those people who like to create coziness in the interior.

On English language This needlework is called “quilling” - from the word “quill” or “bird feather”. Unlike origami, which originated in Japan, the art of paper rolling originated in Europe in the late 14th and early 15th centuries. In medieval Europe, nuns created elegant medallions by twisting paper with gilded edges onto the tip of a bird's feather. When viewed closely, these miniature paper masterpieces created the complete illusion that they were made of thin gold strips. Unfortunately, paper is a short-lived material and little has survived from medieval masterpieces. However, this ancient technique has survived to this day and is very popular in many countries around the world. Paper rolling quickly spread in Europe, but because paper, especially colored and high-quality paper, was a very expensive material, paper plastic art became an art for ladies from wealthy sections of society.

In England, Princess Elizabeth was seriously interested in the art of quilling, and many of her creations are kept in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. We associate paper with the idea of fragility and fragility. But quilling refutes this statement - you can put, for example, a cup or a heavy book on a filigree volumetric stand, and not a single curl of paper lace will be harmed. You can assemble a candy vase from paper elements and safely use it for its intended purpose - it will not fall apart or break. In general, quilling is an opportunity to see the unusual possibilities of ordinary paper.

And these paintings simply amaze with their realism. At first glance it may seem that they are painted in watercolors. We come closer - and here we see a patchwork picture.

Kinusaiga is a patchwork technique where you don’t need a thread or a needle.

Lovers of patchwork paintings will love this technique. Its big advantage is that you can create paintings together with your child. The Kinusaiga technique was created by Japanese Maeno Takashi, a university professor. The main material for creating paintings is pieces of silk. Of course, now you can buy them in any fabric store, but before, Kinusaiga paintings were in a great way“recycle” old silk kimonos. Silk was very expensive, and besides, silk for a kimono is very beautiful. It would be a pity to throw away such fabric or use it for household needs. Therefore, they began to use it to create toys and paintings.
Paintings using the Kinusaiga technique are created like this. To begin with, the project future painting drawn on paper. The drawing is similar to a coloring book: clear boundaries-lines between elements, subdivision of elements by colors and shades. Then the lines of the drawing must be transferred to the tree. Grooves, 2 millimeters deep, are cut along the lines in the wood.
Then the drawing on paper must be colored in order to have an idea of what colors and shades of fabric will be needed. Fragments of the design (and there can be very, very many of them) are numbered (both on paper and on wood). Then a piece is cut out of the fabric, the shape corresponding to a certain fragment, but slightly larger (one might say, this is a kind of seam allowance). This edge allowance is just tiny, just 1 millimeter.
Each piece of fabric is glued into place, and the edges are tucked into grooves cut in the wood. The work is very painstaking, considering that the size of some elements may not exceed half a centimeter. This painting can only be done by hand. It is not surprising that works in this technique cost a lot of money and are a source of pride for their owners.

On November 3-4, 2017, the annual event “Night of the Arts” will take place in Russia. The motto of the event: “Art unites.” The organizers promise interactive classes, master classes, performances, exhibitions, performances and other events in Russian cities. And we propose to organize another collective photo exhibition!

Photo exhibition will open November 3, 2017 In addition to the virtual exhibition on the community website, we will arrange a real exhibition in the hall of the Moscow library No. 100. Needless to say, scrolling through photographs on a monitor and seeing them live is a completely different experience for the viewer. And the author looks at prints differently than at “digits”. Take a look at the previous exhibition about childhood.

Carefully read the terms of participation and photo requirements. The deadlines are very tight, so you will have to work hard to meet the appointed date. The deadline for accepting photos is October 12, 2017 (no later than 23:59 Moscow time on October 12, 2017)

What photos are we waiting for?

Select one or more topics.

Topic 1 “Hommage” (curator ironrations )
There are a lot of people in the community interesting photos created for the briefs “Reconstruction” and “Photoduel”. They are examples of homage. We invite you to talk about works of art (and masters) that are significant to you by recreating them in photography. The viewer will guess or recognize the original work, and maybe get acquainted with a new author through your work. Let this collection of homages be a tribute to the masters of the past. Please indicate the title and author of the original work.

Photo mystery. Try to guess where is the original by Christian Coigny, and where is the work of our amateur photographers: tey51 , ilsiyarz , lotos_tea

Topic 2 “Museum” (curator tey51 )
We invite participants to represent the Museum through photography. There is no need to engage in the usual photographic recording of any item from a museum collection. But to conceptually connect the exhibition with the audience, with the creators, with service personnel, to show exactly the atmosphere of the museum space. I would like to see a visual reflection of the meaning of the exhibits presented. At the same time, the museum can be absolutely anything, from a small school to a landscape park...

Topic 3 “Vintage postcard” (curator er_anna )
We offer to create an antique greeting card of any genre (portrait, still life, landscape). The theme for the card can be Christmas and New Year, Easter, Valentine's Day, birthday, wedding and other holidays. We expect kind, slightly naive photographic images in the spirit of greeting cards of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Signature allowed: a short traditional congratulation.

Topic 4 “Street art and people” (curator ironrations )
Street art, contemporary urban art - these are graffiti, sculptural installations, non-commercial posters, small “plants” in public places objects. Street art is not only for beauty and self-representation of the artist, not only for the design of space. The most interesting thing is how a person interacts with an object of street art: he stopped, thought, looked closely, played, photographed, what emotions he experiences, whether he keeps the object or destroys it. Or maybe the passerby himself becomes part of the work of art? The photographer sees this. Photos are accepted not just of interesting street art objects, but of stories of people’s interaction with these objects.

We are waiting for your photos and hope to see you and your guests at the exhibition on the night of art!

Ask questions in the comments to this post, directly to the curator and all moderators. We will be happy to answer!

As you know, products are divided into tangible (goods) and intangible (services). Let's start with recommendations for presenting tangible products at an exhibition stand.

(photo 1)

Visually demonstrate the properties of your products (photo 1). You can talk for a long time about how the fragile-looking stand has exceptional strength and can withstand heavy loads, but it’s enough to put a two-pound weight on it and let the client see it with his own eyes, and everything becomes clear without further ado.

Think about how to demonstrate the features and benefits of your products as simply and convincingly as possible.

Demonstrate the equipment in action, show the process of product production - effective ways attract attention and influence visitors. The effect can be enhanced by attracting visitors to the product manufacturing process.

Note. When demonstrating operating equipment, safety requirements must be strictly observed.

Engage visitors with your product. Direct contact with the product has a significant impact on customers, allowing them to feel it better, form their own attitude towards it, and therefore bring the purchasing decision closer.

Try to present samples of your products so that visitors have free access to them, can personally test them, check their technical characteristics, and evaluate their quality.

Show what your product is made of. People are always interested to know what's inside (photo 2). If possible, show a cross-section of your product. Allow the client to see what is usually hidden from view.

(photo 2)

(photo 3)

(photo 4)

The quality of the raw materials suggests the quality of the product. Research shows that we tend to think by association. If you place a birch log next to a piece of furniture (photo 3) or place a bottle of vodka on live wheat (photo 4), customers will believe that the product is made from natural materials. Take this feature of perception into account.

(photo 5)

Do not oversaturate your stand with exhibits(photo 5). Obviously, exhibitors who fill their booth to capacity with product samples want to show that they have everything.

In an exhibition environment, such a presentation of goods can backfire.

At the exhibition, visitors very quickly get tired of the abundance. Overloaded with information and impressions, the visitor’s brain may refuse to spend the remaining energy trying to understand the mass of chaotically presented product samples.

Before making a purchasing decision, the customer needs to choose what suits his needs. Thus, the main task of the stand is not just to present the widest possible range, but facilitate choice.

(photo 6)

That is why at exhibitions you can increasingly see the presentation of goods according to the principle of less is more (photo 6), i.e. less is better. Visitors' attention is focused
on samples that demonstrate the main activities of the company or product groups, and the full range of products is presented in printed or electronic catalogs.

Present products systematically. A pile of diverse exhibits can create an impression of uncertainty for visitors; it will be difficult for them to understand how your stand is organized.

Products can be grouped by brand, by area of application, by price, quality and other characteristics.

On the front line of the stand you can present products that are more likely to attract the attention of visitors - bestsellers, special offers, exclusive products.

The easiest way is if the main goal of your participation in the exhibition is to present a new product. In this case, it becomes the central exhibit, and the other assortment is presented as an addition.

(photo 7)

Control the perception of your product. It is important to understand how the way a product is presented affects the perception of its price and quality. It is known that a product presented separately is perceived as higher quality and most likely expensive.

The mass presentation of a product conveys to visitors the idea of its affordable price and, perhaps, not the most high quality (photo 7). A moderate number of samples (3-5 pieces) of one product item in a display case shows the balance between price and quality.

Decide which way of presenting your product is most beneficial to you. The main thing is to make a choice consciously.

(photo 8)

Sign product samples.Sometimes it is difficult even for a specialist to determine what the main differences and advantages of a product are based on appearance alone (photo 8).

If everyone at your booth is busy, a technical specifications sign next to the exhibit can keep visitors busy until one of you is free.

Moreover, some visitors are more comfortable studying the contents of the accompanying sign than asking a question to a stand attendant.

The importance of textual accompaniment is also due to the fact that when the brain gets the opportunity to create two mental representations of an object: verbal and visual, better perception and memorability are ensured.

At seminars I am often asked the question:“How to present a wide range of products in a limited area?”. First of all, you need to determine which products will be of greatest interest to your target audience. Choose the most popular positions that bring you the main profit. Organize the exhibition so that visitors' attention is focused on them.

(photo 9)

Reduce the number of copies of each type of product. Use vertical placement goods at the stand (photo 9).

Combine physical representation of the product and graphic images. For example, next to a product sample there might be a photo of your showroom with the caption
“And 47 more models... in our showroom on Profsoyuznaya!”

Minor product groups can be presented in catalogs: “The full range of products in the new catalogue. Take your copy!

Regarding the presentation of large equipment in a limited area (photo 10), you can use photo panels* showing the equipment in full size; broadcast presentation videos on a projection screen or plasma panel demonstrating equipment in action, production processes, installation, etc.; prepare printed products with photographs, detailed descriptions and technical characteristics equipment; create a scaled-down layout of the equipment.

*Please note that large photographs with a spatial plot visually expand the boundaries of the stand.

Large equipment and machinery are often displayed in an open area. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the possible influence of weather factors (rain, snow, wind, cold, heat, etc.). Provide your company's employees and visitors the necessary conditions for conducting negotiations and viewing exhibits.

As you know, many important things are forgotten because they seem obvious. Here are some more simple but important tips.

Your products should look perfect. We think by association - it looks good, which means it works well. As you know, the eyes are the first to “buy”. Dust, chips, scratches, even marks from hand touches should not spoil the impression of your goods.

(photo 11)

Don't skimp on window displays. If the display window looks unpresentable, a negative impression will be projected onto the product presented in it. Use showcases that are worthy of your product.

Do not clutter display windows with foreign objects(photo 11), which do not add attractiveness to your product, but only distract the attention of visitors from it.

Present working samples of products at the exhibition. If there is something wrong with the sample presented at the stand, the client is highly likely to think that the others are no better. Admonitions that your product is actually excellent and this is just an annoying misunderstanding will not help. The customer has already received a negative impression of your product. It will be extremely difficult to convince him.

Arrange goods so that they are easy to inspect.Exhibits should be visible to the main flow of visitors; their view should not be obscured by stand staff. Products that are expected to attract increased attention should be placed so that people standing near them do not interfere with the work of the stand staff or the movement of other visitors.

(photo 12)

Place product samples at a height convenient for viewing – some people don’t have sharp enough eyesight, others find it inconvenient to bend over. Make sure that visitors have no difficulty in inspecting your products.

In order to attract the attention of visitors to small-sized products and increase their memorability, you can use designs that repeat the shape of the product or packaging in an enlarged form (photo 12).

(photo 13)

Non-standard presentation of the product. While visiting the EuroShop exhibition in Dusseldorf, I went into the pavilion where companies were gathered presenting similar products. These were mannequins. Thousands of mannequins.

Arranged and seated on stands, they looked dispassionately into the distance. All of them, as you understand, looked alike, so my vision soon became blurry.

I was about to move to another hall, when suddenly I saw a stand that looked different from the others (photo 13). Instead of countless mannequins there are only three figures, instead of static there is dynamics, instead of melancholy there is a positive emotional background.

I don’t think that these mannequins differed significantly in price and quality,
from those that were exhibited at other stands. However, while other stands were often empty, this one always had visitors.

Consider how your product presentation can allow you to stand out from your competitors.

Now let's take a look Features of presentation of intangible products at the exhibition. As is known, an intangible product is inseparable from its source, i.e. companies and people who produce it. Therefore, when providing information, consulting, educational and other services, the characteristics of the supplier and the quality of its employees are of particular importance.

When setting up your stand, please pay Special attention elements corporate identity– compliance with corporate colors, the writing of your company name, logo, as well as a description of the profile of your activities, your product and the benefits that customers will receive.

Show what sets you apart from your competitors, what is the value of your offers, how your services can be used to solve problems and develop your clients’ business, how thanks to you they can save time and resources, reduce costs, and make money. Give a convincing answer to the question why visitors should choose you and your product.

“Materialize” your product. Use attributes that will make your product more tangible for the client - photographs of completed projects, videos demonstrating how you work and why you can be trusted, selections of publications about your company in print media and on the Internet, certificates of compliance with quality standards, certificates of specialized government agencies or industry associations, Thanksgiving letters, awards, diplomas, etc.

Note. As a rule, large photographs or large graphic images attract attention and are remembered better than several small ones.

(photo 14)

Use customer reviews(photo 14) who use your products or partners who trust you. Positive characteristics of a company or product expressed by third parties are perceived less biased and inspire more trust.

Keep in mind that visitors pay closer attention to things that may fade into the background when presenting a material product - the design of the stand, the quality of printing, and company employees.

The less tangible the product, the higher the role of the one who sells it. The appearance, demeanor, competence and other characteristics of the personnel are projected onto your product. Based on these signs, customers try to understand whether they can trust you and draw conclusions about the quality of your product.

Artist, member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, designer. In 6 years exhibition activities organized and held 29 personal exhibitions, 9 of which were in China.

The main advice for aspiring artists: do not be afraid to exhibit your work. I am sure that by following the further plan, you will realize your dream and hold your first exhibition.

How to tell about yourself

Write a resume

Include information about the place of study, about exhibitions indicating time, place, name. Surely you have participated in group activities. Constantly update your resume, add new art-related events, and delete less important ones. Also write about internships, master classes, bonuses, awards, if any. Add your photo.

Write a biography

Briefly tell us about yourself. Literally on half a page: write about who you are, where you were born, where you studied. Probably, some of your works are in private collections (even if you donated them) and, possibly, in different cities of Russia or abroad. Add this information too.

Prepare a booklet

This is an optional item, but it allows you to present information about you in a bright and colorful way. Post your photo, a photo of one or more paintings. Add brief information about yourself, what you write, contacts, mention your website or pages on social networks. A good option is a double-sided A5 leaflet. More informative than a business card, and also inexpensive.

Create pages on social networks

If you have them, post photos of your paintings more often. Very interesting are the shots in the process of painting, in the open air, and photographs of paintings in the interior. Ask to be photographed at work. Make short videos.

Register on artist portals

Perhaps some of the other visitors will want to purchase your work. The main advantage of such sites is that when your name is entered into search engines, your paintings will be among the first links in the search results. You can use these sites to post your work:

How to prepare works for an exhibition

Decorate the paintings

Paintings need to be framed in baguettes; for watercolors it is better to add a mat. Don't forget about the fasteners. IN Lately I switched to gallery-stretched canvases, 4 cm thick.

With gallery stretching, the edges of the image overlap the ends of the stretcher and no framing is required

I kill several birds with one stone: I save on decoration (baguettes are not cheap) and make it easier to transport the paintings. Frames are heavy and fragile, they are easy to damage, it is necessary to protect the corners with special corners, and if so, then we count every kilogram. And gallery-stretched canvases are lighter and more convenient for transportation and packaging. In addition, such works look stylish in modern interiors.

Signatures

Be sure to sign on the front side of the work. On the back, indicate your last name, first name, title of the work, size of the painting (write the height first, then the width), material (for example, “canvas/oil” or “watercolor/paper”), year. You can sign with charcoal, then be sure to secure it with a special spray or hairspray so that it does not fall off.

Take pictures of the paintings

Best to spend professional photography. Photo good quality You can use it for a catalog, album, booklets, prints (making copies) or when printing on clothes and accessories.

But such photography is expensive, so at first you can take photographs yourself. For shooting, it is better to take the work outside and shoot in the shade. Then trim off the excess and process it in a photo editor. Make sure that the colors in the photo match the actual colors in the painting.

To store photos of paintings, create a separate folder on your desktop. Pictures can be pre-sorted into collections - this way you can always quickly find the ones you need. For photographs of paintings in interiors, also create a separate folder, as well as for photographs from plein airs and your photos at the easel.

Make a list of jobs

Make a list of all your paintings in a table. You can sort by collection or year. So you yourself will understand how many paintings you have, and put things in order. In the table, indicate the number, name of the painting, year, size, material, if necessary, cost, attach a photo. I add notes to paintings when they are sold or placed in a collection. Be sure to mark the paintings that you are donating to an exhibition or somewhere else.

What else should you consider when preparing for the exhibition?

Name

Come up with a name for the exhibition in accordance with the style and theme of the paintings. Select works according to the concept so that together they look good and logical. Make a separate list according to the principle described above, only include in it those paintings that you want to demonstrate at this exhibition. Write about how the idea of painting came, a story about the collection.

Site selection

There are many opportunities to exhibit for free: exhibition halls, galleries, business centers, libraries. Ask questions by mail or phone, come in and meet in person, ask if the staff can post your work or recommend who is best to contact. Show off your paintings.

If you are in Moscow, you can contact the head of the “Art in Nature” project Valery Senkevich or the Izo Art Gallery in the Romanov Dvor business center - for little money you can take part in a group or personal exhibition.

Packaging and delivery of paintings

Take care of your packaging in advance. Of course, it all depends on where and how you are going to transport the paintings.

  • If the work is framed, protect the corners - a small chip on the frame can ruin the whole look.
  • If you are delivering by car and not very far, a layer of plastic film and bubble wrap will be enough.
  • If you are transporting long distances, transport companies suggest adding cardboard packaging or rigid sheathing.
  • When transporting paintings abroad, do not forget to obtain an export permit. In Moscow, this is done by the College of Experts on Cultural Property. The cost for artists is 500 rubles per painting, but sometimes it is possible to cheat. Works from one series can be framed as a diptych or triptych and paid for as one painting.

Arrangement of paintings

Think in advance about how your work will hang. There should be 140–150 cm from the floor to the center of the picture. Check the lighting. It is best to use spotlights. If you exhibit in a gallery, they will definitely help you with hanging.

Press release

Specialists helped me make my first press release. The text should contain the name of the exhibition, brief information about you, what will be presented, the address, duration, opening date, telephone number. You can make further press releases yourself using the example of the first one.

Invitations

Issue invitations to the opening of the exhibition. Indicate the name, address, time, phone number, what other events are planned (I often invite singer friends to perform). And send it out! It is very nice. I prepare a list of those I want to invite in advance and note who agreed to come and who did not. This way you can roughly count the number of guests in order to decide on the number of drinks and snacks for the buffet.

Photographer

Be sure to invite professional photographer. You can post photos from the exhibition on social media pages and send them to guests and friends. Such photos will remind you and your event.

Shooting video

A nice addition to your portfolio, although not required. If you decide to make a film about the opening of the exhibition, discuss in advance with the operator what you want to see in it, what close-ups are important to you, interviews with what people. In general, write a script for your evening and movie. When you apply for the next exhibition, don't forget to attach a link to it.

Your image

Think over your appearance in accordance with the concept of the exhibition and its location. If necessary, contact a stylist who will take care of your hair and. Such details will help you create a cohesive image that will definitely be remembered by your guests and will delight you in photographs for a long time.

Opening speech and communication with guests

Greet the guests and briefly talk about the paintings. Don't forget to thank the people who came to you. Pay attention to each guest, walk around the room, make acquaintances, communicate, find out where the person learned about your event. And be sure to enjoy your evening!

Buffet

Of course, you can do without it, but usually guests come to the event after work, and a glass of water or champagne would not go amiss. It all depends on your budget, you can add baked goods and snacks. Guests will appreciate such signs of attention.

Closing

Conducted upon request. You can invite those who didn’t make it to the opening.

Of course, organizing the first exhibition is an exciting and difficult event, but at the same time it is a way out new level professional development. Think about where you would like to see your paintings, tell your friends about your plans, ask advice from people connected with art, send your resume. In general, knock on all doors and show your creativity. And then the first exhibition will be the beginning of a series of exciting events that will open up new facets of your talent and give you many amazing acquaintances and discoveries. Good luck to you!
