Summer reading plan for children's libraries. Summer readings in the children's library. Event plan. Summer Reading Program

Organizing summer holidays for children and teenagers is a traditional activity of libraries. In the summer, the main task of all libraries is to provide meaningful recreation to as many schoolchildren as possible, broaden their horizons, teach creativity, communication, respect for nature, and instill a love of books.

Libraries cooperate with schools, kindergartens, work and recreation camps, and sports camps to organize summer vacations.

How to fill the free time of children and teenagers? How to make them interested in books this summer? These issues are aimed at solvingsummer programs . They include:

· attracting children and teenagers to the library,

·organization of their summer leisure;

·development of the student’s intellect through games and books;

joint creativity of children and their parents

Individual events are being replaced by comprehensive and specialized summer programs, which reflect the diversity of thematic areas of work and are compiled taking into account the specifics of various age categories, which increases the interest of children in all ongoing events. Hereexamples of summer programs , according to which libraries can work:“Amazing Vacations”, “Summer Kaleidoscope”, “Summer, a book, I am friends”, “Summer with a book”, “Journey through the book Universe”, “Vacations with a book”, “A secret in a book, a book is a secret”.

These programs are interesting because they allow you to combine reading with creative and playful activities, discussion of books with watching films and cartoons.

In the summer, it is advisable to carry out work using such forms of work astravel, tournaments, environmental watches and lessons, creative workshops.

But summer is not only about reading books. This is a big change, which is given to the children to strengthen their health and physical training. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct outdoor games, sports events, and Olympics with them.

Activities should be carried out both with organized children (attending summer playgrounds at schools, cultural centers, sports institutions), and with unorganized children - those who, for a number of reasons, did not go on vacation and were left to their own devices.

To keep children interested during the summer holidays, try creating game situation. You can choose the right one role-playing game or come up with your own. The most common travel game. We draw a large travel map “Across the seas, along the waves.” The reader boards the ship and takes his library with him. Summer reading can be compared to sea diving. “Dive into your library this summer and join in the adventure at sea, the summer literary game. Earn points by reading books, answering questions, and participating in library activities. What kind of diver will you be? With a mask, with scuba gear, deep sea? The library room can be decorated with details of the deep sea: fish, corals, divers, divers.

You can offer readers the following game: “If you are interested in becoming a modern Robinson and spending the summer with a book on your own desert island, the library invites you to take part in the summerRobinson 2012 program. During the game, children must fill out “Robinson's Diary”, made in the form of a booklet.

The events held by libraries in the summer are distinguished by a wide thematic variety, covering various fields of knowledge: literary criticism, ecology, geography, history, local history, etc., since here, in addition to filling children’s leisure time and attracting them to reading, they also set the task gaining new knowledge on various topics.

In addition to the program, you can offer leisure and educational literature, which you can get acquainted with on colorfully decoratedexhibitions:

- "Secrets of Summer Reading"

-"Summer is a small life"

- “King – Orange Summer”

Indispensable attributes of these exhibitions can be bookmarks, reminders, and recommendatory annotated lists of references.

These forms of library work are especially popular such as: theatrical performances, review games, literary cruises, geographical information magazines, art historical investigations. In a word, the leisure time of children and teenagers in the library in the summer is not limited to reading. Some guys strive to show off their erudition by solving crosswords and charades, answering quiz questions. Others prefer to express themselves in literary creativity - they write poems, stories, letters to their favorite characters. Still others try themselves as illustrators, embodying images of book characters in drawings.

Despite the active summer fun, children can be encouraged to attend classes with enthusiasm“School of Morals”, “School of the Young Pedestrian”, “Magic School of Politeness”, which open in the summer at libraries.

A series of computer literacy lessons helps children communicate with this smart technology on a first-name basis.

Particular attention should be paid to exhibitions aimed at a specific readership. Teenagers can be offered a crossword exhibition“Looking for a reading friend.” To solve this crossword puzzle and find the correct answers, they had to read the books on display.

For lovers of intellectual leisure, a new form can be introduced into the work of libraries"Erudite Cafe".It's a cycle educational activities with children not only within the walls of the library, but also going beyond it: excursions to the local history museum, to the park of culture and recreation. The topics of meetings in the cafe are very diverse: conversations about love and friendship, camaraderie, local history quizzes about the native land and famous fellow countrymen, literary competitions and intellectual duels.

Many libraries can actively use their technical capabilities to create video salons, video clubs, organize screenings of animated films and slides, karaoke tournaments, and chess and checkers tournaments.

An interesting form of work is organizing a summer reading room. The purpose of this work is to promote reading through books and periodicals through an open-air reading room. An important aspect of its functioning is informational, educational and leisure activities. Designed for children and teenagers, this work includes holding fun games, educational quizzes, and interesting competitions.

Libraries open mobile stations at summer health camps and school day camps. Children vacationing there can be invited to the walls of the “book kingdom”, where they are introduced to the latest literature, children's newspapers and magazines.

During the summer holidays, many libraries can introduce children to library activities. You can organize a school"Young Librarian" "Aibolit Book Corner" book repair clubs"Knizhkina Hospital" hold an action “Live long, book!” It is also possible to involve children in editing catalogs and filing cabinets.

Traditionally, all events held during the summer holidays reflect several priority areas:

Environmental education

Local history

Moral and aesthetic education

Instilling an interest in reading

Creative development of children

Such diversity is an undoubted advantage of libraries and the key to the successful implementation of the summer campaign. Let us dwell in more detail on each of these areas.

Environmental education

Its goal is to educate children in environmental literacy through familiarization with the works of naturalist writers: Sladkov, Prishvin, Paustovsky, etc.

The forms of work are very diverse: loud readings, games, intellectual lotto, quizzes and riddles, discussion of works. Children can take part in the round table with great pleasure "Earth is our home", you can suggest creating your own "Declaration of Nature" take an active part in the creation of an environmental book.

To increase interest in the native land, its nature, to see and try to solve its problems, libraries hold events with access to nature:

"We're going on a hike" - an environmental game

Can be arranged "Ecological landing" to clear forested areas of debris.

Imagination games are a constant success among children and teenagers. "Forest Book of Complaints and Suggestions", Health Day, on which it is compiled "Tree of Healthy Habits", a correspondence excursion to the forest, for which, according to all the rules, it is necessary to equip an ecological expedition of young local historians “On Forest Paths”.

Literary and biological KVN in the forest is of constant interest "Bear Games" which ended with cleaning the forest from household garbage and preparing food for the forest inhabitants; landscaping campaign "Blossoming Planet of Childhood" in which the most active library readers take part.

Local history

Without this area of work, it is impossible to imagine the activities of a library today, especially for children. Library workers are constantly searching for the most effective forms of working with local history books and promoting local history knowledge.

Summer readings can be held under the motto “Remember: you won’t know the world without knowing your edge.” The program can be called “My native land is a big part of the Motherland”. The work of libraries on local history education includes three main areas:

“Our common friend is nature” (nature, ecology of the region)

"Writers and poets of the native land"

"On the native side"

As part of the summer holiday program for children, it is necessary to organize a variety of activities:

· “My Native Street” - educational hour,

· “Land of Wonders” - local history quiz game,

· “It’s better to see once” - a local history trip.

The symbol of the program “My native land is a big part of the Motherland” is Grandfather-local historian. It is on his behalf that it is necessary to develop an insert booklet with tasks.

These are the words the Grandfather-local historian addresses to the participants of the readings: “Dear friend! Nice to meet you. I am Grandfather-local history, I will lead you with the help of maps, books, riddles, competitions in amazing world nature, I will introduce you to the history and literature of the region, I will tell you how to see the unusual in the ordinary. At the end of the summer holidays, perhaps you will receive one of the prizes in the categories: leader of local history reading, reader-artist, reader-writer, reader-visionary.”

The results are summed up at a general library festival, where the winners of the summer readings will be awarded.

Moral and aesthetic education, instilling an interest in reading

Organizing children's leisure time, attracting them to reading, broadening their horizons and developing children's aesthetic perception of the world around them have always been priorities in the work of libraries in the summer.

In addition to the traditional children's reading week, which takes place during spring break, there is especially a lot of attention to children's reading "outside curriculum» pay attention to libraries in the summer.“Extraordinary Adventures”: literary quiz

Traditionally, in many libraries, the campaign to organize work in the summer begins with Pushkin Days. Libraries hold blitz tournaments, literary marathons, and quizzes dedicated to the legacy of the great poet.

"Literary gazebo"- under this name you can organize a summer reading program in the library. Participants in the program have the opportunity to demonstrate their literary abilities, develop imagination, and acquire communication skills.

Such events are not just entertaining in nature, but carry rich information, the charm of a book, and awaken imagination. Creating a game situation removes the painful motive of “testing abilities” for children, and their inclinations and habits are revealed more fully.

Libraries can organize an entire city with its own “Entertainment Square”, “Crossroads of Hobbies”, “Boulevard of Health”, “Street of Good Deeds”, and its own publishing house.

Events held in libraries in the summer are developed taking into account the interests of children and adolescents, their age characteristics and are multifaceted: these are hours of adventure, puppet shows, theatrical performances, role-playing and literary games, competitions "The book gives inspiration" drawings "My favorite fairy tale", essays "My family's favorite book."

The creative and fruitful work of libraries in the summer once again confirms the demand for libraries and increases their prestige in society. We can say with confidence that summer is the most active season in working with readers, a time of creativity, imagination, and activation of all forms of individual and mass work.

2. Relevance of the program
Reading for children is one of the most important prospects for the spirituality, intelligence, and culture of a nation. For the future of every nation, it is especially important how the process of children’s entry into the world of book culture occurs.
In our computerized information age, children and teenagers spend very little time with books. From adolescence until graduation, “business reading” predominates among children and “leisure reading” almost disappears. Observing readers in libraries, we see that many limit themselves only to reading magazines, horror films, and detective stories. Interest in a real art book in last years falls.
Another equally important problem is that children do not know how to properly manage their free time and do not know how to organize their leisure time.
Our children's library has been running a summer reading program for several years. This year it is called “Literary Wanderings” and includes work to attract children to the library, organize their summer leisure through games and books, and close communication between the little reader and the librarian. Various forms of work with children in the children's library, individual and mass, are able to organize children's leisure time, create conditions for the free development of the child's personality, and the development of children's creative abilities.
The theme and direction of the summer walking group was chosen for a reason - 2015 is the year of Literature. Over the course of several months, a survey was conducted among children aged 7-10 years, which revealed the most interesting work(“The Adventure of Dunno”) and the most memorable literary character (Dunno).

I am the Grandfather of local history, I will lead you with the help of maps, books, riddles, competitions into the wonderful world of nature, I will introduce you to the history and literature of the region, I will tell you how to see the unusual in the ordinary.

In addition to the traditional children's reading week, which takes place during spring break, libraries pay especially much attention to children's reading “outside the curriculum” in the summer.“Extraordinary Adventures”: literary quiz

Events held in libraries in the summer are developed taking into account the interests of children and adolescents, their age characteristics and are multifaceted: these are activity hours, puppet shows, theatrical performances, role-playing and literary games, competitions "The book gives inspiration" drawings "My favorite fairy tale", essays "My family's favorite book."

The creative and fruitful work of libraries in the summer once again confirms the demand for libraries and increases their prestige in society. We can say with confidence that summer is the most active season in working with readers, a time of creativity, imagination, and activation of all forms of individual and mass work.
